Today I went to Songdo Timespace in search of good meat. I heard there's a beef place here that tastes great, is good value, and has a play room with a jungle gym, so it's perfect for anyone bringing kids. Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant (한마음정육식당) specializes in aged beef and aged pork, and it's a Songdo BBQ spot that's just right for a family meal.
Where is Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant Songdo Timespace, and what are its hours?
The Songdo Timespace branch is on the 2nd floor of Building B in Songdo Timespace, near Incheon National University Station. It's open 16:00-22:00 on weekdays and 12:00-22:00 on weekends. Groups, reservations, a play room and high chairs are all available.

It's on the main road side, so it wasn't hard to find.
Size of the restaurant and the aging fridge
It's big! The space is nice and spacious, big enough for a group company dinner.
They're known for meat dry-aged at a low temperature of 2°C for 144 hours, and sure enough, there was a large aging fridge off to one side.
A play room that's great for family meals with kids
I knew before coming that there was a play room, but it was bigger than I expected, which was great. Haengbok (our little one) had a blast while the meat was grilling.
This is exactly why I'd recommend it as a family meal among the beef places in Songdo Timespace. After eating, Haengbok was having so much fun in the play area that she said she didn't want to go home 😂 That's how much there is to play with.
Menu setup: full tray, half tray, single items and kids' menu
Both beef and pork are sold by the full tray, half tray or as single items, so everyone from light eaters to big eaters can order without pressure.
Side dishes include yukhoe bibimbap (seasoned raw beef rice bowl), kids' seaweed soup and nurungji (scorched rice), so it's a good place to visit with children.

It had been a while, so I ordered beef! We got the sobanmari (aged beef set) for ₩47,000, Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap for ₩9,000, and nurungji for ₩4,000.

The basic doenjang jjigae is refillable
The doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) that arrives right after you order is packed with tofu and zucchini. It's included and you can get refills! Order a bowl of rice and you can easily make a DIY doenjang rice bowl too.
The jjolmyeon in the scallion salad is this place's kick
The geotjeori (fresh kimchi) looked fresh too, but this is Hanmaeum's real kick: the scallion salad is loaded with jjolmyeon (chewy wheat noodles)!
Is it jjolmyeon or is it scallion salad?? Tossed in the tangy sauce, it really gets your appetite going.
With the table already generously laid out, it's finally time for the meat.
What's in the aged beef set, and how does it taste?
Hanmaeum's aged beef set comes with 300g of jin-galbi (prime galbi meat), galbi, rib on the bone, chuck flap and beef brisket. We ordered it for two people and it was more generous than I expected.
Now for the fun part! Let's sizzle it up.
The jin-galbi was seriously good, and maybe because all the meat was so tender, Haengbok ate really well too.
Grill it and slurp it right up. Beef doesn't take long to cook, which I love. Maybe because it's aged, the value is great and the meat quality is very good.
I stuffed jjolmyeon into a wrap and it was fresh and zesty, with a chewy bite on top, which made it even better. My husband, who loves trying lots of different textures, was very satisfied.
Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap and nurungji: how to finish
If you still want a little something more, I highly recommend Hanmaeum's Korean beef yukhoe bibimbap (₩9,000)! The portion is really generous. A bowl of rice piled with vegetables and yukhoe left us truly full.
I ordered the nurungji (₩4,000) for Haengbok, but the portion was quite big, so I put the leftovers into the doenjang jjigae and boiled it. Wow~ it turned into a nutty, savory doenjang porridge that was so good. Nurungji has a special charm that plain rice just doesn't.
With a full play room for kids before and after the meal, plus tender, good-quality beef at a great-value price, that was Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant, a Songdo BBQ spot 💙
