Songdo Korean BBQ for two: pork jowl and scallion jjolmyeon, Hanmaeum
In short
Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant Songdo Timespace branch (한마음정육식당) is a butcher-shop style Korean BBQ restaurant on the 2nd floor of Songdo Timespace in Yeonsu, Incheon. On a Sunday, the writer and her husband shared the half-pig set (45,000 won), which came with complimentary sides including scallion jjolmyeon (chewy noodles with shredded scallions), seasoned bean sprouts, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and pickled radish wraps, and the adjustable-heat grill let them cook to the end without burning anything. Their ranking of the cuts was pork jowl, then pork belly, then neck, and with scallion jjolmyeon on the side, Hanmaeum's pork never felt greasy.

Why am I craving meat so much lately.....? Today my husband and I went to smash some pork at Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant in Songdo. There are lots of good places in Timespace so we go often, and today we had proper meat at a butcher-shop restaurant!✨
Location and hours of Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant Songdo Timespace branch
Hanmaeum Meat Restaurant Songdo Timespace branch (한마음정육식당) is at 158 Hamoni-ro, B-dong 2nd floor, Units 205–208, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea. It is open Mon–Fri 16:00–22:00 and Sat–Sun 12:00–22:00.
What side dishes come with the meal?
At the Songdo branch, a table full of side dishes comes free: scallion jjolmyeon (chewy spicy noodles), bean sprout salad, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew), and radish wraps. Can you believe this is all just free side dishes?

Honestly, this is my first time at a BBQ place that sets out so many good side dishes. Reading the reviews, lots of people come back again and again, and I totally get it now.
Top 4 side dishes (totally subjective)
- Scallion jjolmyeon
- Bean sprout salad
- Doenjang jjigae
- Radish wraps
Of these, the scallion jjolmyeon is just crazy (?). Sorry for the harsh words;;;; I feel like they could sell it on its own for ₩7,000. You know how meat gets greasy sometimes! Take a bite each time and the tangy sauce, the carb-y noodles and the spicy scallions refresh your mouth so you can eat even more.
Half pig or half cow: which one to order?
The menu has a half-pig set for ₩45,000 and a half-cow set for ₩47,000. I really agonized between the two, but there were more pork posts in blogger reviews, so I followed the majority of my blogger neighbors and ordered pork.

What's in the half-pig set, and the tastiest cut
The half-pig set at Hanmaeum has pork neck, pork belly, pork jowl and mushrooms. To cut to the chase: everything was delicious, but the pork jowl was the best! (It's the fattiest cut, so I recommend grilling it last.)

They also have a separate wet aging space. Maybe that's why it tastes even better. I want one in our house too.
A grill with adjustable heat, so nothing burns
We started by grilling the neck and pork belly. Meat master husband, off he goes-

These days everyone grills over charcoal, which makes the heat hard to control, but at Hanmaeum you can adjust the heat and I loved that! We could eat all the way to the end without burning anything.

Put scallion jjolmyeon on top of the pork belly. Please don't forget the scallion jjolmyeon.

We grilled kimchi and garlic on one side. A Korean can't really eat meat without kimchi, right- 😎
My personal ranking: pork jowl > pork belly > pork neck!

Other ways to enjoy the meat
If you want a different feel at Hanmaeum, try it like this. There are lots of ways to enjoy it ᰔ‧₊˚⊹
- Wrap it in a radish wrap
- Eat doenjang jjigae after the meat
- Wrap scallion jjolmyeon with the meat
The doenjang jjigae here is known for having lots of tofu! Anyone who likes tofu???? I really love it and keep a stockpile at home, and even eating tons of tofu here it didn't run out, which was great! ⚠️ Oh, and you can also boil the jjigae separately at the table and eat it as it simmers! I should have made doenjang rice at the end… why do I only think of it while writing the post ㅠㅡㅠ

Is it a good Songdo BBQ place to go with kids?
The Songdo Timespace branch has a kids' zone that really feels like a kids' café, so it's great for company dinners or gatherings with children. That's why so many groups came: kids play there while the adults eat meat!

Maybe because it looked so fun, the kids played really well haha. When we have a baby and they're older, we'll definitely pick places with a kids' zone like this.

Adults need time to enjoy good meat in peace too! I heard some Pilates studios now have a place next door where staff watch the babies during class. I hope the world gets more comfortable for parents of little ones😭 The owner of Hanmaeum really came up with a clever idea.
Sunday dinner, a table wiped clean

What do you think, we really ate it all!!!! It was Sunday, so I fed my husband meat to cure his Monday blues. Sad that it's Sunday😭 but the weekend will come again, right.....? No, it will, so let's all hang in there on Monday too💛
