Milky half-chicken broth at a Songdo noodle restaurant: Eonyang Dak
In short
Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is a chicken kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup) and dak-gomtang (chicken rice soup) restaurant on Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu, Incheon, behind the food mart near the Songdo hagwon district. Ahead of malbok, the last dog day of summer, one bowl of chicken kalguksu at 11,000 won and one dak-gomtang at 11,000 won arrived with half a chicken left whole in a milky broth and aged noodles, and the self-serve bar offers both spicy and mild kimchi to compare. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu is the Songdo 1-gongu pick when samgyetang feels like too much but you still want deep chicken broth.

These days when I'm craving something restorative but samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) feels like too much, I love reaching for a rich dak-gomtang (chicken soup) instead — so let me introduce a great Korean restaurant in Songdo 1-gongu for exactly that.
The broth is art, but the chewy noodles and the distinctive kimchi are what's making this Songdo restaurant a local favorite lately: Eonyang Dak Kalguksu. Let's get into the full review :)

Where is Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch, and when is it open?
Open daily 11:00–21:00, last order at 20:30. They offer reservations, takeout, parking, and even a baby chair.
True to a Songdo 1-gongu Korean restaurant, it sits behind a food mart near Songdo's hagwon (private academy) district — easy to reach for locals whether on foot or by car.

Inside the restaurant and the solo dining seats
The interior of Eonyang Dak Kalguksu Incheon Songdo Branch is spacious and pleasant. With no break time, it's a good spot to drop by anytime — even at an off-peak hour, there were quite a few customers.

There are also dedicated solo dining seats, making this Songdo restaurant a comfortable place for anyone to eat alone.

Menu prices and the three takeout styles
True to its name, chicken kalguksu is the best-selling dish here. The menu is simple but solid — they even sell a regular kalguksu made with chicken broth but no actual chicken. Great value at 8,000 won.

What I found fun was the takeout system — you can choose how your noodles are packed to suit your taste.
- Cooked together with broth
- Cooked, broth packed separately
- Uncooked
Handy if you want to enjoy it at home your own way.

Self-serve bar with spicy and mild kimchi
The dishes I ordered that day were chicken kalguksu (11,000 won) and dak-gomtang (11,000 won). Once you order at the table and pay by card, it's time to head to the self-serve bar for kimchi!
Interestingly, this Songdo restaurant splits its kimchi into two kinds — spicy and mild. There's also danmuji (pickled radish) for those who want no spice at all. Kids' spoons and forks, tongs, and scissors are all here too.

Not knowing how spicy either one was, I grabbed a little of both first.

Why the aged noodles take 15 minutes, plus the less-salt option
Just a heads up — since the chicken kalguksu here uses aged noodles, it can take about 15 minutes to cook! But the wait is worth it for the taste 💙
When ordering, you can also select detailed requests on the tablet like less salty or no green onion. The less-salty option was perfect for eating with my kid.

Chicken kalguksu with half a chicken left whole
It didn't take as long as expected before the dishes arrived! I was surprised to see a whole half chicken sitting right in the bowl.

Look how milky that broth is.

The chicken was so tender that when I tried to pick it up with tongs, the meat just fell apart — hard to lift a single clean piece to show you.

Deboning it was surprisingly smooth thanks to how tender the chicken was. And the noodles are really chewy! Even my husband, who usually prefers rice over noodles, admitted the chicken kalguksu here is unbeatable. Definitely order the kalguksu — this place is a noodle lover's dream.

How was the dak-gomtang broth?
The broth was clean yet rich, with the chicken stock brewed deeply enough to bring out a maximized nutty flavor that goes down easily. On hot days when cooking at home feels like too much, being able to polish off a delicious bowl of dak-gomtang here makes total sense why it's so popular.

Spicy kimchi vs mild kimchi: which one won?
By the way, the kimchi here is worth talking about too. The spicy kimchi was genuinely spicy 😂 — the kind where you go 'whoa, that's hot' the second it hits your mouth. The mild kimchi still has some kick but is at just the right level of spicy, pairing perfectly with the chicken kalguksu. I ended up refilling on the mild kimchi 😆

Final verdict on Eonyang Dak Kalguksu in Songdo
With generous amounts of chicken plus the broth, this Songdo 1-gongu Korean restaurant made for a truly filling, satisfying meal at Eonyang Dak Kalguksu. The dak-gomtang broth is mild enough to enjoy with kids, and it pairs perfectly with either the spicy or mild kimchi depending on your taste. With malbok (the last of the year's dog days) coming up soon, I highly recommend a bowl here for some restorative eating!
