Halibut sashimi and soju, Songdo fish market: Songdo Jonghap Eosijang

In short

Songdo Jonghap Eosijang is a fish-market-style sashimi restaurant on Haedoji-ro in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon. A small plate of halibut sashimi with Chum Churum soju came with firm, clean-tasting flesh that suited both the spicy vinegar sauce and the soy sauce, plus a full table spread of seaweed soup, baek-kimchi (white kimchi), corn salad and steamed egg. For an easy plate of sashimi and a drink in Songdo, Songdo Jonghap Eosijang does the job.

🏠 Inside the restaurant, you feel that lively fish-market energy the moment you walk in! Overall it was a comfortable place to sit and enjoy sashimi and drinks, and with proper tables set up it was also a good spot for a meal with friends or a partner.

I noticed they were selling a lunch sashimi set meal for ₩12,000! Seems like a great reason to visit at lunchtime (๑˃؂˂๑) You can also grab extra basic side dishes from the self-serve bar!

How the halibut sashimi tasted

🐟 Halibut sashimi is best eaten right after it's ordered, of course😉 The halibut overall had firm, springy flesh with a great texture.

Look at that gorgeous soju.. sashimi and soju, an unbeatable combo..🤤💦 Chum Churum, essential when eating sashimi! The halibut had a clean, mild flavor that paired even better with the soju.😘

Spicy vinegar sauce or soy sauce with halibut?

I'm team vinegar sauce!! Both are so good though💛 The flavor is clean and mild, so it was delicious dipped in spicy vinegar sauce, and also great with just a light dip in soy sauce to really taste the halibut itself🫶🏻 There wasn't much of a fishy taste either, so I kept reaching for more without any hesitation!!

It went great with the sushi rice too, and paired really well with the makjang dipping sauce (ღ'ᴗ'ღ )
