Uijeongbu forest-view café after a Yangju meal with parents: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a large forest-view café on Nogyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. After a meal with parents in Yangju, the writer stopped at Forerest for an americano, a vanilla latte and two slices of Basque cheesecake aged 16 hours in the fridge — plain and matcha — with forest filling the window wall and a large parking lot outside. For a Uijeongbu café with easy parking where family can sit a long while, Forerest is a solid pick.

After eating with my parents in Yangju, I looked around for a decent café nearby and ended up at Forerest, a large café in Uijeongbu! It looked pretty big in photos, but in person the parking lot alone was huge, and behind the café a whole forest stretched out. You don't even have to leave the city to get that out-in-the-suburbs drive feeling — perfect for grabbing coffee after a meal haha.
Forerest hours and parking in Uijeongbu
Forerest is open daily from 11:00 to 24:00, year-round. It stays open until midnight, so you can drop by late without rushing. Just keep in mind that on weekends and public holidays, your stay is limited to 2 hours!
True to its reputation as a Uijeongbu large café, the parking here is really generous. Follow the navigation deep inside and you'll find a spacious lot — the café says it can fit 50+ cars, which makes it great for a family drive on the weekend or a group visit haha.

Forerest's forest setting and outdoor space
When I first arrived, it felt a bit different from the usual large-café vibe I expected. Instead of one big new building plopped down somewhere, the building and outdoor space sat naturally within the forest.

There are so many trees around the café especially. Outdoor tables are scattered around too, so once the weather cools down, drinking coffee outside would be lovely haha.

Sunlight filtering through the trees is so pretty, and it really felt more like a little getaway than a city café. If you're looking for a large café in Uijeongbu and love forest views or lots of greenery, Forerest should suit you well.

Inside Forerest: mood and seating
Step inside, and the mood shifts again.

Wood-tone furniture, high ceilings, sunlight pouring in through the big windows — the whole place felt warm and comfortable. Best of all, everything outside the window is green, so just sitting by the window was already nice haha.

There were quite a lot of customers when I visited, but the space itself is so large and the tables so varied that it never felt crowded. There are window-facing seats and big tables for groups, so it looks great for dates, family visits, or group get-togethers alike.

On one side there's a guitar, a speaker, and some large art pieces. Little touches like these give it more personality than just a big café for the sake of being big.

The best seats at Forerest: the window wall facing the forest
And here's the space I liked best! Through the huge window wall, you see nothing but green forest. With trees this thick right next to the café, it's almost hard to believe you're in Uijeongbu. Sitting there sipping coffee and looking out the window, I felt as relaxed as if I'd traveled somewhere far away. It looked great for coming with parents, and just as good for a long chat on a date.

What we ordered at Forerest
We ordered an americano, a vanilla latte, a Basque cheesecake, and a matcha Basque cheesecake! Forerest doesn't just serve coffee — they also make their own Basque cheesecake, chilled and aged 16 hours. Besides the plain version, there's matcha, chocolate, and more, so it's easy to pair coffee with dessert here.

Americano, vanilla latte, Basque cheesecake, matcha Basque cheesecake — the full spread haha.

The americano cut cleanly through the richness of the Basque cheesecake, so they went well together, and the vanilla latte was nice and sweet too. This isn't the kind of place where you just grab a coffee and leave — it's a café for lingering over cake while looking at the forest!

How does Forerest's Basque cheesecake taste?
Forerest's signature menu item: Basque cheesecake!

Plain Basque cheesecake
The slice was thicker than I expected. Cutting it with a fork, the inside had that dense yet soft texture that splits apart nicely, and the cheese flavor was genuinely rich. It's not the overly dry style — it's dense but soft, which makes it great with coffee. I personally love pairing this style of cheesecake with americano, and the combo was just as good as I hoped haha.

Matcha Basque cheesecake
I also tried the vividly green matcha Basque cheesecake. The moment you take a bite, that distinctive matcha aroma and slight bitterness comes through subtly, followed by the nutty, rich taste of the cheese. It felt a little less sweet than the plain version, which honestly made me keep reaching for more. If you love matcha, definitely try this one haha.

Final thoughts on Forerest
Forerest, a place I stumbled onto while looking for a nearby café after eating in Yangju! The parking lot was huge, the café itself was large, and best of all, the green forest outside the window was really lovely. I came in just for coffee but ended up thoroughly enjoying Basque cheesecake too and lingering for a while haha. If you're looking for a large café in Uijeongbu with easy parking and a forest view to enjoy, give Forerest a try :)
