Uijeongbu forest café for knitting and a rainy revisit: Forerest
In short
Forerest is a forest-view café on Nokyang-ro in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi, with an indoor space divided into small rooms plus an outdoor terrace. On a midsummer visit with her sister and mom, the writer sat indoors at Forerest over a caffe latte and matcha and Earl Grey Basque cheesecakes, spending the afternoon reading and knitting, then returned a few days later to find the café under a sudden summer shower. Verdict: Forerest is a healing café worth visiting in any season, rain or shine.

Hi everyone! It's Grasshopper Boss ◡̎ There's a café near Uijeongbu and Yangju that I love! You don't have to go far to enjoy lush green views alongside great coffee and Basque cheesecake — Forerest, a Uijeongbu café that feels like a secret hideout in nature.

Getting to Forerest and parking
To get to Forerest, follow the road lined with statues that leads in from Nokyang-ro. Parking is very generous, with lots both beside and behind the café.
Walking toward the café feels a bit like stepping into a fairy tale?! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) With the blue sky and green trees, it's peak summer vibes ദ്ദി
There are quite a few statues near the entrance with kind of an unusual atmosphere (?) haha — just keep walking straight past them! 𖤐 The road in is a bit uneven, so drive slowly! 𖤐
Parking at Forerest in Uijeongbu — there's plenty of room both beside and behind the café haha!

Outdoor terrace and indoor room seating
Forerest has plenty of outdoor terrace seats where you can enjoy coffee fully immersed in nature, while the indoor space is divided into small rooms. Ugh, this brutal summer — I really want cool autumn to hurry up so I can finally sit outside ㅠㅠ

It's all green outside but wood-toned inside, giving off a bit of a country house feel haha. The inside is split into small rooms, and the biggest space is the group seating, which is where most people end up!

The room on the left has a fresh white-and-green tone.

This space gets great sunlight so it feels bright, and there were a lot of people quietly reading or working haha.

My favorite spot, my favorite seat, at Forerest café in Yangju — that green-on-green view is total healing ❤︎
The big table seats have outlets, so I noticed a lot of people working there! ** By the way, Forerest is dog-friendly! **
Both my sister and my mom loved it too haha. The crowd at Forerest really spans all ages, and even though the interior isn't flashy, the view out the window is so healing that people of every age seem to love it ◡̎

Matcha and Earl Grey Basque cheesecake with caffe latte
What we ordered at Forerest that day: caffe latte, matcha Basque cheesecake, and Earl Grey cheesecake. The Basque cheesecake at Forerest in Uijeongbu is house-made, gluten-free, and chilled and aged for 16 hours!

The latte was nutty and really delicious too.

The matcha Basque cheesecake has a really, truly dense texture with a really~~~ strong matcha flavor haha. It's strong enough that you can taste some bitterness — pretty intense matcha! I'd recommend having the matcha one with an Americano haha.

The Earl Grey Basque cheesecake paired so well with the latte! Not too sweet and really tasty ◡̎ I like both matcha and Earl Grey, but personally I'd vote for Earl Grey since it seems to go well with anything — coffee, tea, whatever!

A shower while knitting, and a return visit days later
At Forerest I read, knitted, and even stepped outside to watch a praying mantis haha — it really is Forerest, through and through.
I thought a rainy day or a snowy day would be lovely here too, and a few days later I went back?! And out of a clear sky came a surprise (?) shower?! Sure enough, the charm of a rainy day was just as good ❤︎
A healing café worth visiting in any season, when you just want to step away from the noise and rest for a while! A dog-friendly Uijeongbu café that feels like a secret hideout in a sea of green! Forerest, a Uijeongbu café known for its dense, rich Basque cheesecake.
