I only write honest things after eating it myself.
A sauce flavor on a different level A jjukkumi restaurant in Baekseok-dong, Cheonan

Hi, this is Chiri. I went to stay at a friend's place during vacation, and my friend, who's lived in Cheonan for a long time, confidently recommended a place she said was genuinely delicious.

She said the sauce on the jjukkumi was especially well made — spicy but full of savory depth — so I went in with high expectations.

Location and parking at Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Main Branch

Bulnaneun Jjukkumi Cheonan Main Branch sits inside a huge building. There's a parking space at the front of the building too, which made it convenient to visit by car.
Interior, seating, and baby chairs

Inside, there were really a lot of tables. With plenty of seating, it's perfect for family meals as well as group meals with several people.

Baby chairs are also available for those visiting with kids, so it's comfortable as a family dining spot too.
Introducing the jjukkumi menu

Beyond just tasting good, it's also a menu that suits people thinking about fatigue recovery, brain development, or weight management.

The signature menu is a set combining jjukkumi + shrimp tempura or perilla kalguksu (perilla-seed noodle soup) + pot rice, and you can choose the spice level to your taste.

There's also a griddle-cooked jjukkumi menu and one with pork belly added. With side dishes and extra noodles too, it's set up well for a group to each pick what they like.
Basic side dishes, cold soup, and shrimp tempura

Not long after ordering, the basic side dishes were set out. They're good to eat alongside spicy food, and overall they felt fresh, which I really liked.

And especially, a cool cold soup that goes well with spicy food in summer, all ready to go!

When you order the set, you get two shrimp tempura pieces. The shrimp were bigger than I expected, so the look of them was great.
The batter was fried nice and crispy, and the shrimp meat inside was plump too.
The spicy jjukkumi spread — how was the sauce?

A little while later, the main dish, jjukkumi, was laid out as a generous spread. True to being a well-known jjukkumi restaurant in Baekseok-dong, Cheonan, the portion was really substantial.

We picked the spicy option, and a subtle smoky flame aroma rose up, pulling my appetite in right away.

After one bite, I understood why my friend wanted to come here. It wasn't a sauce that was just spicy — the savory depth was fully alive too.
It's a spicy yet delicious sauce that soaks naturally into the jjukkumi.

The set also comes with pot rice, and the rice grains were chewy and had a nice nutty flavor. You know you have to eat the nurungji (scorched rice) too, right, haha.
I put various side dishes and jjukkumi on top of the rice and mixed it all up to my taste. The spicy sauce seeps in between the rice grains, and it's a combination that keeps you reaching for more.

If you usually like spicy food, choosing the spicy option like I did will really make you go 'wow.' As a well-known jjukkumi spot in Cheonan, the sauce itself is in a league of its own, unlike food that's just spicy for the sake of it.
Self-serve sundubu and coffee

Besides the basic side dishes provided, there's a self-serve menu you can go get more of, so you can use as much as you need comfortably.

Among them, the sundubu (soft tofu) was really delicious. Eating the smoothly-going-down sundubu between bites of spicy jjukkumi tames the heat in your mouth.

There's also a machine for coffee after your meal. Finish off your spicy meal with a cup of coffee~
Why you should go / overall review
- The harmony of jjukkumi and a deeply savory sauce
- Shrimp tempura, kalguksu, and pot rice all together
- A spacious restaurant with plenty of seats, plus a self-serve bar

It wasn't just intensely spicy — the smoky flavor and savory depth came through together, and with the pot rice and side dishes, it was a filling meal on its own. If you're craving spicy jjukkumi, want a hearty meal with family, or want to enjoy shrimp tempura and pot rice all at once, visit Bulnaneun Jjukkumi, a jjukkumi restaurant in Baekseok-dong, Cheonan!
