Dark chocolate brown color at Yaksu Station salon Hair Studio Baekga

Hi, I'm Minisu. It's been a while, but I went and got a full color done at "Hair Studio Baekga," a hair salon near Yaksu Station! They have a Yaksu branch and a second branch in Dangsan — turns out the owner director, Baekgyeong, works out of the Dangsan location!

I wanted to get a cut too, but I didn't have time, so I just did the full color. I'd missed my root touch-up window, and my roots had already grown out past 5cm, looking pretty messy.

Where is Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station, and what are the hours?

Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station is 90m from Exit 3 of Yaksu Station, on the 1st floor of MJ Building, 186-7 Dongho-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea. It's open from 10 AM to 8 PM, and there's parking right in front of the building. I booked through Naver Reservation with designer Soyi.

Located close to Exit 3 of Yaksu Station, Baekga is where designer "Soyi" did my hair, and I absolutely love the color. She recommended exactly the right color for me, really quickly. You can definitely see the tone-down, right?

What the salon looks like inside

Inside, Hair Studio Baekga Yaksu Station had an overall clean, white interior, split across two floors. I got my treatment done on the first floor.

No.7 dark chocolate brown: a tone-down color with no redness

On the color chart, the higher the number, the darker the color. Since my base was already bright, they put shade No.7 on it — deep chocolate brown. She said she mixed in a matte color to remove any redness. Exactly the vibe I wanted!

A hair salon is a place you go to for a mood reset, right? It's a pretty standard part of the experience everywhere, but it'd be a letdown if it weren't there — I had some orange juice. They also gave me candy and potato chips.

I'd come straight from work and was hungry, so I enjoyed it a lot.

Waiting for the dye, time flew by. They came to check on me every so often. Designer Soyi was so kind.

It felt great having my scalp washed so refreshingly. Why does washing at a salon feel so much more refreshing than doing it yourself? The shampoo room was also really clean. Salons that aren't well kept can be messy, but this neighborhood salon was clean and just right for a mood reset. If anything, since it's reservation-only and not some huge chain salon, it felt like I was getting attention from genuinely skilled designers.

I waited in that seat, got my shampoo, and came back to my chair! You can't really tell the color until it's dried, right? I was so excited waiting. Even wet, you could already tell the tone was different, and I couldn't wait to see the dried color.

How did the color turn out?

Hair that was obviously bright brown to anyone came out under the lights at this Yaksu Station salon with a slight blue-black feel — a sophisticated, calm color. A total image transformation! They didn't do a separate blow-dry, so it was basically just dried. This is the feel! What do you think?!

Everyone kept asking what I did, saying I looked calmer — full color, that's what!

I really should've done this sooner. Once toned down, everything looked so much cleaner overall. It came out unified in one tone, no patchiness, from root all the way to tip. If I'd added a clinic treatment it probably would've been even softer, so that's a bit of a regret, but I'll come back for the clinic treatment and a cut next time.

The photo below shows a pretty stark before/after difference in vibe too?! A transformation from warm to cool! She said as the color fades a bit more over time, it'll shift into a deeper brown.
