Dongnae, Busan BBQ dinner: 264-hour aged pork belly, Yukmildo

Today I finally made it to Yukmildo Dongnae Direct Branch, a really famous restaurant in Dongnae. I'd seen it all over SNS and went with high expectations, and honestly, the meat quality was so good it was really really delicious,,,⭐️

We visited in the evening so we ordered from the meat menu, but the lunch special I saw in Instagram videos looked really good too! The lunch special looked like great value, so next time I'll have to come on a weekend for lunch

The aged raw pork belly at Yukmildo Dongnae Direct Branch is grilled by a staff member from start to finish, and the juices were amazing from the very first bite. With salt, ssamjang (dipping sauce), wasabi, and galchisokjeot (fermented cutlassfish sauce), there's fun in mixing and matching the sauces.

The basic side dishes are so neatly arranged✨ Salt, ssamjang, wasabi, galchisokjeot — the variety of sauces is really impressive

Kkodulbbaegi (bitter root pickle), kelp, cabbage, assorted pickles, and fresh wrap vegetables — the side dishes are plenty varied too

Doesn't the pork belly's color look great,,,✨ This Dongnae restaurant, Yukmildo, apparently uses domestic pork that's cross-aged through both dry aging and wet aging for 264 hours

Maybe that's why the meat's color looks especially fresh✨

Steamed egg is a must-order at any BBQ restaurant — I ate it while waiting for the meat to grill, and it was so fluffy and delicious 💛

Since corkage was free, we picked up a small bottle of gaoliang liquor from Mega Mart and had it together 😙 Free corkage is the best!!!!

There was a good variety of garnishes too, and the staff member grilled the meat so carefully and well haha

The grilling was so perfect — the staff member put the first piece on our plate and even portioned out the salt onto our small plates

I dipped it in salt and took a bite, and the juiciness of the meat right from that first bite was insane..

The combination with wasabi was really great too

They put the fully cooked meat up for us, so it's easy to eat slowly and comfortably

Potato, mushroom, ggwarigochu (shishito-style peppers), onion, and washed kimchi — even the doneness of the garnishes was perfect. We didn't order from the meal menu, just finished with steamed egg and a bowl of rice ~~~ Free corkage was such a huge plus at this Dongnae BBQ restaurant, Yukmildo♥️

I found a truly perfect BBQ restaurant in Dongnae from start to finish,, maybe because the meat is aged, the juiciness was insane, and with so many sauces and side dishes, mixing and matching was extra fun! Best of all, the staff grilled everything for us, so it was such a comfortable, delicious meal. Highly recommend it as a family dinner or company dinner spot in Dongnae!!!! I'm planning to go back -🖤
