Dongnae hair salon: soft layers + volume magic for bent roots, Chamer

It's been a while since I changed up my hair, so here's my story about a layered cut + volume magic at Chamer, a hair salon in Dongnae, Busan ✨ My hair had been frizzy lately and just felt unkempt overall, so I rushed over to get it done!! 💨

What are Chamer's hours and closing day in Dongnae?

Chamer opens at 10 a.m. and closes at 8 p.m. It's closed on Tuesdays.

What's the atmosphere like at Chamer?

The inside of Chamer felt clean and tidy overall. It had been ages since I'd been to a salon, so I arrived at Chamer full of expectations 🤍

The interior felt clean and well organized overall.

Instead of that busy, chaotic feeling salons often have, it was neat enough that I could stay comfortably 〰️

Personally, the chair is something I secretly care about a lot at a salon, haha 🤣 You have to sit for so long, so an uncomfortable chair makes the whole thing quite tiring, right?! The chairs at Chamer were comfortable too, so I could relax the whole time!!

What did my hair look like before the treatment?

Before the layered cut and volume magic, my hair was bent in lots of places. Let me show you the before first 😉 Especially the roots... ^^ they were really messy 🥹

How does the consultation with manager Siu at Chamer go?

The person who did my hair this time was manager Siu (시우 실장님) at Chamer 🤍 She didn't jump straight into cutting the moment I sat down; first she looked over the overall condition of my hair.

She checked everything really carefully: my current length, the condition of the hair, damaged areas, the overall texture and so on 👍🏻

How was the not-too-heavy layered cut done?

After the consultation, we started with the layered cut. What I wanted wasn't a style with too many heavy layers, but a layered cut where the layers go in naturally and the overall shape falls nicely 〰️ Manager Siu cut it really carefully.

How does the volume magic process work at Chamer?

After the layered cut, the volume magic began! She checked my hair first and then applied the solution. I liked that she didn't just slather it on evenly everywhere, but kept checking my hair's condition as she went.

While we waited for the solution to work properly, she kept checking on my hair too.

Section-by-section flat ironing and neutralizing

After the solution step, I rinsed and moved on to the next stage 〰️ She divided my hair into sections and straightened it strand by strand with a flat iron. It wasn't a quick once-over; she split it into sections and worked through carefully!

After the ironing came the neutralizing step! After all those stages, my hair was finally done, haha. Let me show you right away 👇🏻

Was I happy with the layered cut and volume magic result?

Ta-da. ✨✨ The big after 🤍 When I looked in the mirror after finishing at Chamer, it came out exactly the way I wanted, and I was really satisfied... !

Isn't it just so pretty, ㅠㅠ The layers are really natural, and the volume magic tamed the frizz, so the whole silhouette felt much neater!

Manager Siu recreated exactly the look I wanted ♥️ I absolutely loved how the ends fall ㅠㅠ 😭✨ I was worried a layered cut would make my hair look too light because of the layers, but since she cut it to suit my hair's condition, the overall balance was good 🌝

If you're looking for a Dongnae hair salon, I really recommend Chamer ㅠㅠ 💙💙 Even though it's a bit far from my home... I want to come back again! (Seriously)
