Peanut snack shop in Namdaemun Market taking Onnuri vouchers: Daesin

I was visiting Namdaemun Market in Seoul when the nutty smell of peanuts pulled me into Daesin Ttangkong-ppang Namdaemun Market branch (대신땅콩빵)!

The shop is at 7 Namdaemunsijang 2-ga-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 1st and 2nd floors. It is open 10:00–19:00, with last order at 18:30.

They bake peanut bread (ttangkong-ppang, a small peanut-filled cake) on the spot, so it makes a great street snack. And it's not just peanut bread: they also sell peanut butter made from 100% peanuts, roasted peanuts, egg bread and peanut smoothies, so there's plenty to try!

Menu and prices at Daesin

Peanut bread starts at ₩3,000 for 20 pieces, and egg bread starts at ₩2,000 for one. Here are the menu board prices.

Not just peanut bread: peanut butter, smoothies and egg bread

When you order, they put the peanut bread straight into a bag. They keep baking batch after batch, so I got to eat it warm.

There's peanut butter with no additives, ground in the shop, which sounds extra nutty,

and a zero-sugar peanut smoothie that would be lovely and refreshing in summer.

And egg bread on one side too! Peanut bread plus egg bread, a proper market snack lineup.

How to reheat packed peanut bread at home

The packaging says to heat it for 40–50 seconds in a 700W microwave, or 50–60 seconds in an air fryer at 180°C, then let it cool for at least a minute before eating. Warming it up a little like this at home brings back the freshly baked taste. It also says you can freeze it and eat it as icy peanut bread.

They also sell roasted peanuts by the doe (a traditional Korean measure) and half doe. The smell was seriously nutty, so I bet they're delicious.

The peanut butter is a 150g creamy type, said to be made by grinding 100% peanuts. The peanuts themselves are so tasty here that it can't possibly be bad! Peanut butter made from 100% peanuts at that price is a great deal too!! 🤍 I think I'll spread it on apple slices at home~~🤍

On top of that, the packaging has a peanut character on it, so it's super duper cute 🤍

How does the peanut bread taste?

The peanut bread is bite-sized, the perfect size to pop one at a time while wandering the market. The price isn't a burden either, so it's a good Namdaemun Market street snack.

It's golden and crispy outside and moist inside, packed with peanuts, so the more you chew, the nuttier it gets 🤤🤤🤤
