What kind of café is Forerest in Uijeongbu?
Forerest is a café at 181 Nogyang-ro, Uijeongbu, a standalone building on a big plot that feels like a garden in the forest. I loved it the first time I went, so now whenever I have a reason to be in Uijeongbu, I make a point of stopping by for a little healing break. You can feel nature all around you here.

Forerest's outdoor garden and walking path
In front of the café there is outdoor seating that looks like a big garden.

On top of that, the surroundings are like a forest, so you can take a walk around the area too. The café also continues outdoors, so you can bring your dog. It was so hot the day I went that everyone was inside, but when the weather is cooler, lots of people grab seats outside.

Forerest is a standalone building up on a hill like this. Doesn't it look like a café you'd visit on an outing somewhere in the countryside?

Forerest indoor seating: is it busy on weekdays?
Even at an in-between time on a weekday, Forerest had lots of customers. This is the entrance.

There are pretty props and all kinds of seating. I went at an awkward weekday hour thinking it would be empty, but there were plenty of customers even then. I guess it really is a famous café in Uijeongbu! Inside there are lots of roomy seats, and several rooms each have a different feel, so it seems good for groups and get-togethers. Since it's one big standalone house, there's a wide variety of tables and seats.
Forerest menu: what should you order?
The cheesecake at this Uijeongbu café is seriously good, so definitely get a slice on the side. Each time I go, I pick whatever I'm craving. I've tried every kind and they were all delicious.

I've tried a few drinks too, and overall they were good.

The cheesecakes were kept in the fridge like this.
Cheesecake, drinks and the forest view from the window seat

My iced americano, apple ade and cheesecake came out.

Even just from the photo, the cake looks dense and fudgy, right?

I sat at the window at Forerest, and look at that view outside! It's not a city view of cars. It's a garden right in the middle of the forest. It feels like stepping into a fairy tale.

How does Forerest's apple ade taste?

Forerest's apple ade wasn't watery. It had a rich apple ade flavor. Look at the color of it! When it first came out, I honestly thought there was a light shining from underneath, haha.
They told me to shake it up well, so I stirred away. Doesn't it look refreshing just from looking at it? I took a sip, and you know how sometimes cafés sell bottled apple ade? The pricey kind. It tasted a little like that. It wasn't watery at all but had a rich apple ade flavor, which I liked.

Iced americano with cheesecake
The iced americano came out. I stirred this one around too and, mmm, pass! A cold iced americano with a dense cheesecake is such a great combo.

Earl Grey Basque cheesecake: does it taste like perfume?

Forerest's Earl Grey Basque cheesecake is a dense cake with a rich black tea flavor and nothing odd about it. This is a cross-section of the Earl Grey Basque cheesecake. You can feel how rich it is just by looking, can't you?

I cut it with my fork and took a bite, and wow, it is the definition of dense. Earl Grey at a bad place can taste like cosmetics, but you know how Hong Kong Earl Grey is famous? It tastes just like that. No strange taste at all, just the flavor of rich black tea.

How rich is the chocolate Basque cheesecake?

Forerest's chocolate Basque cheesecake has a deep chocolate flavor. It doesn't taste like cheap chocolate, it tastes like expensive chocolate. It's not brownie-like, it's much richer than that. It's not a regular chocolate bread with a hint of chocolate, it was a deep flavor like eating pure chocolate.

Verdict: is Forerest in Uijeongbu worth a visit?
Forerest is a large café in Uijeongbu. It feels like a short healing break in nature, as if you were in the middle of a forest. The cheesecakes especially are dense and every kind is delicious, so I really recommend getting one with your drink.
