Suwon sando café: melon sando and lime ginger ade at Jo Hui-tak
In short
Jo Hui-tak Coffee (조희탁커피) is a dessert café near Ajou University in Paldal-gu, Suwon, that makes its salt bread, baked sweets, cakes and fruit sandos in-store. The writer went back and forth with the fig cake before choosing the melon sando and a lime ginger ade, and was happy with both: the melon sando came loaded with cream and big chunks of melon, and the lime ginger ade was tangy with a gingery kick. Jo Hui-tak Coffee is roomier and quieter inside than it looks, a good Ajou University café for solo study or for chatting at a group table.

A great dessert spot near Ajou University! I went to Jo Hui-tak Coffee (조희탁커피), haha!

This is the outside of Jo Hui-tak Coffee. From the street it looks small inside, but the seating in the back is huge!!

Jo Hui-tak Coffee menu and prices
The Americano starts at ₩5,500 and cookies start at ₩2,000. The drink menu board also lists plenty of non-coffee drinks and teas, plus dessert prices, so have a look!

Salt bread starts at ₩3,300, and there are lots of kinds, like pizza salt bread and red bean butter salt bread!

The dessert selection is seriously huge. There are baked sweets like financiers and egg tarts, plus cakes and sandos (fruit sandwiches).

That fig cake and the cheesecake especially grabbed my eyes. I came for a sando, but I seriously agonized over the fig cake..!!!!!!!

What sando flavors does Jo Hui-tak Coffee have?
The sandos come in mango, melon, fig, fruit and tangerine. I'm too full to get both a cake and a sando, so sando it is ^.^ haha. I was craving melon today, so I picked the melon sando.

By the way, the desserts here are reportedly made in-store with care! Whole cakes can be ordered too. They're made to order, with reservations open until the day before pickup, so ask the staff!

Is Jo Hui-tak Coffee a good study café near Ajou University?
The inside is way, way bigger than it looks from outside, and I was surprised when I walked in! It isn't noisy and has a calm feel, so it's a great space for studying or focusing on work.

I actually saw quite a few people studying alone or in study groups, haha! I'd recommend it to anyone who likes studying at a café on their own or wants a quiet place to focus. The seating feels relaxed, so coming alone isn't awkward, and you can spend time comfortably without worrying about other people.

That said, it's not just a study café vibe! There are group tables too, and it's a café where chatting feels comfortable, haha.

There's Wi-Fi, and water is available too.

How does Jo Hui-tak Coffee's lime ginger ade taste?
The lime ginger ade is a not-too-sweet ade with zesty lime, a mild kick of ginger and refreshing fizz. I'd never heard of a lime ginger ade, but lime + ginger + sparkling water is a combo I love, so I ordered it, and it was even better than I expected, haha!
I wondered what it would taste like, but with the first sip that fresh, bright lime scent filled my mouth. The mild ginger kick on top gave it a different charm from an ordinary ade! It isn't just sweet; it's zesty yet clean and light, which I liked even more. With the popping fizz it's really refreshing and left my mouth feeling clean!
I like Starbucks' Cool Lime Fizzio, and I think people who like that will probably like this too! It seems especially good on days you want something other than coffee, or when you want a mood refresh.

Jo Hui-tak Coffee melon sando review
The melon sando is soft bread packed with cream and one big chunk of sweet melon. And finally, the star of the show, the melon sando, appears! It looked delicious just to look at!
Loads of cream between soft bread!! And one big chunk of sweet melon, ta-da!!! My expectations were up before I even took a bite!!!^.^ The taste was the best, just like the high-quality look. The melon sando was so good that now I'm curious about the baked sweets and cakes at Jo Hui-tak Coffee, not just the sandos.
