What kind of café is Gluttony Coffee?

Gluttony Coffee is a dessert café on Gunam-ro 2-gil in Jeju City, close to Jeju Airport. On the first day of my Jeju trip, after lunch, I wanted a little time to relax, and this is where I ended up!! The slogan "Today, a sweet overindulgence just for me" caught my eye. It's a lovely café where you can enjoy homemade bakery items baked fresh every morning along with coffee brewed from carefully selected beans.

Because it's so close to the airport, it's also a great café near Jeju Airport to stop by as the last stop of your trip!! It's famous among locals, and maybe that's why the place was completely packed.

Gluttony Coffee hours and parking

Gluttony Coffee is open daily from 11:00 to 20:00, with last order at 19:30. There's no private parking lot, but there is a public car park near the shop.

Atmosphere and seating at Gluttony Coffee

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a soft scent of coffee and freshly baked goods. The space is neat yet cozy, and it feels like a comfortable place to rest during a trip! You could sit by the window with a cup of coffee and sum up your Jeju trip, or just take your time over desserts. I could see why so many people recommend it as a Jeju City café, and why it's bustling with locals, haha.

The seating comes in a real variety of styles. It was a clear, breezy day, so my favorite was the seat facing the outdoors!! Right after I took this photo, the place filled up with customers. Seriously...

What did we order at Gluttony Coffee?

When I looked it up, it turns out Gluttony Coffee is a hotspot for cakes and desserts ???!!!! I had come right after a lunch so big my belly was about to burst, so this is what I ordered ૮₍˶•🐽•˶₎ა

• Canelé (French caramelized custard cake) ₩3,500
• Plain financier (buttery almond cake) ₩2,800

Fitting for a dessert hotspot, the takeout packaging is super pretty!! They also take whole-cake orders, and you can buy cute candles too, haha. Next time I definitely have to try a cake packed full of fruit!!!!!!!

The interior was totally my taste, with mirrors placed all around, so I think it's great for taking photos!! There's also a self-serve bar where you can help yourself to water, and they thoughtfully have blankets ready too (˶ᵔᵕᵔ˶)♡ᐝ

How is the iced homemade chocolate latte at Gluttony Coffee?

The iced homemade chocolate latte (₩6,500) was pleasantly sweet with a rich chocolate flavor. After a huge lunch I was craving something sweet, so I ordered it!! Smooth milk and chocolate blended together nicely, making it a good partner for desserts, and it was sweet without being overwhelming, so it went well with the canelé too!!!!!

Does the hand drip at Gluttony Coffee really taste like Earl Grey?

The iced hand drip really did have an Earl Grey aroma. I'd heard that Guatemalan beans can give off Earl Grey notes, so I ordered it!! Gluttony Coffee says it uses carefully selected beans, and after trying the drip coffee I could see why.

From the first sip there was a clean, fragrant aroma, and the balance of acidity and nuttiness was good. I could really taste the Earl Grey, which was amazing!!!!!!!! ( *ฅ́˘ฅ̀*) It neatly resets the sweetness of the desserts, so I was glad I ordered them together.

Is the canelé at Gluttony Coffee crisp outside and moist inside?

The canelé (₩3,500) was crisp on the outside and moist and chewy on the inside. And I'm a total canelé nerd, you know ????? I like canelés that crackle outside but are moist and bouncy inside, and Gluttony Coffee's is exactly that !!!!!!!!!!

One bite and a gentle richness and sweetness filled my mouth, and it went really well with coffee. If you usually love canelés, the quality will satisfy you !!!!!! Trust me and try it !!!!!!!!!!!!

Taking home 3 financiers from Gluttony Coffee

I took home plain, salted caramel and matcha financiers from Gluttony Coffee, and all three were textbook "geotbasokchok" (crisp outside, moist inside)! I just couldn't walk past the financiers on display.

• Plain financier: the most classic taste, with a strong buttery flavor
• Salted caramel financier: sweet caramel with a faint saltiness, the kind you keep reaching for
• Matcha financier: the bitterness and nuttiness of matcha come through well, so matcha fans will be satisfied

Back home I put them in the freezer and thawed them briefly before eating, and they were dense and wonderfully buttery!!

Gluttony Coffee isn't just a place with good coffee. The bakery is well made and the interior is satisfying too. Thanks to the homemade bakery items baked fresh every morning, you can feel the care in every dessert, and the hand drip and drinks were good quality as well. There's a wide range of desserts, so they're also great to take away as gifts or snacks for your accommodation. That's why I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a dessert café in Jeju!!

Overall verdict

Gluttony Coffee, which I visited on the first day of my Jeju trip, was more satisfying than I expected. The crisp-outside, moist-inside canelé, the fragrant drip coffee and the rich iced chocolate latte were all great, and the plain, salted caramel and matcha financiers I took home were excellent too. If you're looking for a café with good desserts on your Jeju trip, I'd recommend Gluttony Coffee as a café near Jeju Airport!!
