Aewol dessert café in Jeju for carrot cake and scones: Aewolbon Café

If you're in Jeju, hunting down pretty cafés is half the fun, haha. Aewol especially has so many cafés that are great to stop by while driving.

This time I wanted to see the sea and eat tasty desserts, so I went to Aewolbon Café! To cut to the conclusion — the ocean view was absolutely fantastic :)! On top of that there were fresh-baked scones and a really delicious carrot cake, so I got a proper rest.

How good is the ocean view at Aewolbon Café?

The first thing that caught my eye at Aewolbon Café was, of course, the sea. Jeju has so many ocean-view cafés, but sometimes when you actually get there the sea is only barely visible between buildings, or not as wide open as you imagined. Here, though, the sea you see from the café was really beautiful, haha.

Sip coffee, glance at the sea, eat dessert, glance at the sea again! Just sitting there made me feel like I was really in Jeju. On a nice day, isn't the Aewol sea basically cheating :)! Looking out at the blue water and taking it slow really put me in vacation mode.

When I pick a café in Jeju, the dessert and coffee matter, but so does the view. In that sense, this place suits anyone looking for an Aewol café in Jeju who doesn't want to miss out on an ocean view.

What are the fresh-baked scones like?

At Aewolbon Café I tried the fresh-baked scone, and a scone eaten warm really is on another level! And you can't skip dessert at a café, haha.

Scones can sometimes end up too dry or feel like they're getting stuck in your throat, but eating one fresh out of the oven made it taste so much better. Sipping coffee, taking a bite of scone, and looking at the sea — that combination was really great :)!

If you're looking for a good dessert café in Aewol, I'd recommend ordering dessert along with your coffee rather than just coffee alone. Especially if you can catch them with fresh-baked scones!

Why the carrot cake was the more memorable order

The scone was tasty, but personally what stuck with me more that day was the carrot cake.

It was just sweet enough and paired really well with coffee, with a different kind of charm from the scone. Honestly, I had higher expectations for the fresh-baked scone at first, but after eating both, the carrot cake was what really stayed with me.

It's not just a café with a pretty ocean view — the desserts are good too, so my satisfaction went way up. If you care about desserts as much as the ocean view when café-hopping in Aewol during your Jeju trip, try the carrot cake too :)!

Service and atmosphere at Aewolbon Café

Another great thing about Aewolbon Café was how kind the owner was! At cafés and restaurants, good food matters, but friendly service makes your memory of the whole place better.

Even on a first visit, I felt totally at ease, and I loved being able to slowly enjoy coffee and dessert while watching the sea. Great view, great dessert, and kind service on top of it — I think I'll remember this place next time I pass through Aewol, haha.

Can you bring a dog to Aewolbon Café?

So many people travel around Jeju with their dogs. Aewol in particular is great for walking or driving along the coast, so I saw a lot of people out and about with their dogs.

So if you're looking for a dog-friendly café in Aewol, Aewolbon Café could be a nice addition to your route. It seemed like a good fit for a course where you drive along and take in the Jeju sea with your dog, then stop at the café for a short rest.

That said, dog-friendly rules — like indoor/outdoor seating or whether a carrier is required — can differ from café to café, so if you're visiting with your dog, I'd recommend checking the specific conditions ahead of time :)!

Adding Aewolbon Café to an Aewol coastal drive

Drive along the Aewol coast taking in the Jeju sea, then stop at Aewolbon Café for coffee and dessert — that alone feels like a complete Jeju date course, haha.

The sea you see from the café is so pretty that you don't need to do anything else — it's a great spot to just sit and talk. With delicious carrot cake and scones on top of that, it was perfect for a date too.

Personally, I'd really recommend pairing this with a drive course. In Aewol, just cruising along the coastal road without a fixed destination already feels good. Driving slowly along the sea, stopping at the café to rest, then driving on again — that felt like the real Jeju trip experience :)!

Is Aewolbon Café worth a stop?

This visit to Aewolbon Café was satisfying all around, from the ocean view to the desserts. Above all, the sea you see from the café was truly fantastic, and my eyes were happy the entire time I sat there, haha.

The fresh-baked scone was good, but personally the carrot cake was really delicious and stuck with me. If I come back, I'll probably order the carrot cake again! The owner was kind too, so I could relax comfortably, and having coffee while looking at the sea made it a great fit for a date course. It would be even better paired with a drive along the Aewol coast :)!
