Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch is a marinated pork galbi restaurant on Beomgol-ro 145beon-gil in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. Booking a table for 7pm on a weekend, the writer ordered 3 servings of marinated pork galbi, doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) and 2 bowls of rice; yukhoe (beef tartare) came as a basic side dish, and the galbi order included one bowl of naengmyeon (cold noodles) per person. I had plans near Uijeongbu and after finishing up wanted some good galbi (marinated ribs), so I headed to Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch. I'm generally a galbi lover, so I looked up good galbi spots in Uijeongbu and ended up here. I made a reservation for around 7pm on a weekend evening — I heard the place fills up completely on weekday evenings and weekends too, so if you're planning to visit, I'd definitely recommend booking ahead!
Do you need a reservation for 7pm on a weekend at Manpo Galbi?
I visited Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch with a 7pm weekend reservation. When I arrived, my reserved table was already neatly set up, so I could sit right down.

Maybe because it was a weekend evening, there were a lot of diners and the whole place felt lively. Apparently there's also a free doenjang jjigae coupon you can use on weekdays, so it might be worth checking for a coupon before you visit haha.

Manpo Galbi side dishes: yukhoe served as standard
At Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch, a wide variety of side dishes comes out as soon as you sit down. Everything felt neat and tidy, but personally what I liked most was that yukhoe (beef tartare) comes as a default side dish!

It felt a little special to get yukhoe as a basic side at a galbi restaurant. Kimchi, muchae, and various other banchan came out too, giving plenty of options to pair with the meat.
Ordering 3 servings of marinated pork galbi
What we ordered at Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch was 3 servings of marinated pork galbi, doenjang jjigae, and 2 bowls of rice. Here, ordering galbi gets you one bowl of naengmyeon per person.

- 3 servings of marinated pork galbi
- Doenjang jjigae
- 2 bowls of rice
That's probably why a lot of people seemed to be eating the naengmyeon and the galbi together right from the start. I always need rice with my meat, so I ordered rice first thing haha.
Doenjang jjigae with beef brisket
We started with the doenjang jjigae. Since it had brisket in it, it had a richer, meatier depth than a regular doenjang jjigae.

The broth was savory and deep, perfect alongside rice. Taking a spoonful of doenjang jjigae between bites of meat — this combo of Korean food never fails!
How sweet is the marinade? Galbi wrapped in muchae radish salad
The galbi we'd been waiting for finally arrived! The marinade was well soaked into the meat, and it looked delicious just from the sight of it.

The heat was fairly high, so we grilled it while flipping frequently. It cooked faster than expected, so keeping an eye on it to avoid burning is important.

Once well cooked, the galbi itself was tender and the marinade wasn't overly salty, which I liked. The sweet marinade soaked into the meat so it was delicious on its own, but wrapping it in muchae made for a really great combo. Personally, if marinated galbi is too sweet or too salty, I get tired of it after just a few pieces, but here the seasoning wasn't overdone so I kept eating without getting sick of it.
Stir-fried kimchi grilled on the tabletop grill
The stir-fried kimchi served alongside can also be grilled on its own dedicated tray. Grilled with plenty of sesame oil, it had a familiar taste that I kept reaching for haha.

Eating the grilled kimchi together with the galbi cut through the richness nicely — they went really well together.
One free bibim naengmyeon per person
After eating meat, naengmyeon (cold noodles) is a must haha. We went with bibim naengmyeon (spicy mixed cold noodles). Since one bowl per person is provided free, being able to enjoy naengmyeon along with your galbi order feels like this place's signature touch.

Think of the portion as a dessert-noodle size — just right for finishing off a meat meal. It was Hamhung-naengmyeon style, so the noodles were chewy and the sauce had a nice savory depth. A bite of marinated galbi with the bibim naengmyeon — honestly, that combo is impossible to resist..🤍
Final verdict on Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu
Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch was a satisfying, filling meal overall — from the galbi to the side dishes to the naengmyeon. I especially liked getting yukhoe as a basic side dish, and the fact that one naengmyeon per person comes with a galbi order felt a bit different from other galbi restaurants.

The marinated pork galbi was tender and not overly seasoned, so it was easy to eat without feeling weighed down. If you're in Uijeongbu looking for a family dinner or gathering spot, or just craving some good pork galbi, I think you'd be happy visiting here.
