Pork BBQ at Samsong Station: galbi on perilla noodles, Neopttakjip

Neopttakjip Samsong Branch (넙딱집 삼송점) is a pork BBQ restaurant near Exit 3 of Samsong Station in Deogyang-gu, Goyang. After a stop at Starfield Goyang, the writer grilled Sancheong black pork fresh galbi (400g) with grilled vegetables at Neopttakjip Samsong Branch, got free pork skin through a review event, and finished with perilla oil makguksu (cold buckwheat noodles) for 7,000 won. The verdict: topping the perilla oil makguksu with a piece of the clean-tasting, odor-free galbi was the most satisfying combination of the meal.

After-work Korean BBQ in Eungam, Seoul: pork neck & eggplant, Yukjjip

Yukjjip's Eungam Station main branch is a two-floor charcoal Korean BBQ restaurant serving Jirisan aged pork in Eunpyeong, Seoul, a one-minute walk from Eungam Station Exit 4. After work, the writer and a friend ordered the 600g Yukjjip platter (54,000 won) of pork belly, signature pork neck and gabeuri-sal (a chewy shoulder cut) with grilled vegetables, all cooked start to finish by staff, and soju was 3,000 won. Yukjjip is a relaxed Eungam Station Korean BBQ spot, and the signature pork neck is the standout.

Hyehwa Korean pub with aged salmon sashimi and roe sujebi: Goeunjeong

Goeunjeong Daehangno Main Branch (고은정 대학로본점) is a Korean gastropub on the ground floor of A&A Tower in Hyehwa, Jongno, Seoul. At dinner, the writer ordered a half-and-half platter of hanwoo yuksashimi (raw Korean beef) and aged salmon sashimi, plus the new pollock roe perilla cream sujebi (hand-torn dough soup). The aged salmon dipped in sriracha mayo stood out most, and with soft lighting and private rooms, Goeunjeong is worth recommending for a Daehangno date night.
