Daegu pasta restaurant for a daytime red wine date: Etrenne Jukjeon

A few days ago I had an errand at Jukjeon intersection, so I turned it into a date with my husband, our first in a while, and we went to Etrenne Jukjeon Branch (에트렌느 죽전점). We had come by public transport that day, which meant we could have wine in the middle of the day. 🤭 The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious, so we ate until we were full for the first time in ages.

Is Etrenne Jukjeon Branch a good spot for a date?

Etrenne Jukjeon is in the Daewoo World Mark arcade at Jukjeon intersection, so it's fairly easy to find. The inside is small and there are only a few tables, but that actually made it nice and quiet for a meal.

It's cozy too, perfect for chatting over lunch with my husband. I found it while searching for a good date restaurant in Daegu, and I liked the vibe the moment we walked in.

What we ordered for two at Etrenne Jukjeon Branch

For the two of us we ordered one each of the house salad, gambas, Toowoomba pasta and half-and-half lasagna, plus two glasses of house red wine. I wondered if it was a bit much for two, but there were so many things I wanted to eat that we ordered a bit of everything, haha.

After we ordered, the garlic bread and house salad came out first, followed by the Toowoomba pasta, half-and-half lasagna and gambas in turn.

The garlic bread that came out first was already delicious. It was crispy on the outside with a great garlic aroma, so we enjoyed even the starter bread.

The house salad was great for getting our appetites going too. Even before the mains arrived, my husband and I were saying how good it was.

Etrenne's Toowoomba pasta vs. Outback's: which is better?

My favorite dish that day was the Toowoomba pasta (a creamy, spicy-savory cream pasta) at Etrenne Jukjeon! The thick, rich cream sauce clung to the noodles, and the moment I took a bite I couldn't help saying how good it was.

I like Outback's Toowoomba pasta too, but personally I found Etrenne's even better. There was plenty of sauce, it wasn't greasy, and the thick, rich flavor kept me reaching for more.

What is Etrenne's half-and-half lasagna?

The half-and-half lasagna at Etrenne Jukjeon is a lasagna that's half potato and half meat. I'd never had it before, so at first I was curious what it would be like.

Topped with plenty of tomato sauce, it turned out to be a real treat. 😋 The potato side was soft and mild, and the meat side was packed full, with a satisfying chew. I liked that one lasagna gave me two flavors. It was my first time trying it and it was better than I expected, so my husband and I really enjoyed it. ☺️

Are Etrenne's gambas good with red wine?

We couldn't skip the gambas (garlic shrimp in oil)! Etrenne Jukjeon's gambas came loaded with plump shrimp, garlic and vegetables, along with baguette slices.

I piled shrimp and vegetables on the bread and dipped it lightly in the oil, and it was so good. The shrimp were springy, the combination with the bread worked well, and it vanished in no time, haha. The gambas were even better with the wine.

A daytime red wine date without the car

That day we left the car behind and took public transport, so my husband and I each had a glass of house red wine! Normally it's hard for both of us to drink because of driving, but this time we relaxed and enjoyed wine in the daytime, starting at lunch.

Delicious food with wine on the side, now that's a date. 💛 I could see why people look to Etrenne Jukjeon as a go-to date restaurant in Daegu.

Would we go back to Etrenne Jukjeon for a lunch date?

From the Toowoomba pasta to the half-and-half lasagna and gambas, every single dish at Etrenne Jukjeon was delicious. The half-and-half lasagna, which I tried for the first time, is something I'd order again next time, and I think I'll keep thinking about the Toowoomba pasta.

The two of us ordered four dishes and ended up cleaning every plate, haha. Finishing my errand at Jukjeon intersection and then having a nice lunch with my husband, wine included, made it a happy day! It was a proper lunch date at a Daegu date spot after so long. 💛 Next time I'd like to try other dishes too.
