Bar near Gwangalli for beef yukjeon and octopus: Dari Yeodeolgae
In short
Dari Yeodeolgae is an octopus bar on the second floor of a building on Muhak-ro 21beon-gil in Suyeong-gu, Busan, near Suyeong Station and five minutes by car from Gwangalli Beach. The order was boiled octopus, medium size (44,000 won), and nakyeopsal yukjeon (pan-fried beef in egg batter, 26,000 won), served with free starters and one bowl of clam soup per person; the octopus was tender rather than chewy and the yukjeon came as thick beef piled high with seasoned scallions. If you're visiting Busan, you have to check out the Gwangalli night sea! 🌊 While looking for a good spot near Gwangalli for a second round or just a drink, I found Dari Yeodeolgae (다리여덟개). One look at the boiled octopus photos and the price and I was hypnotized into going!
It's about 5 minutes by car from Gwangalli Beach, and there's a Suyeong Station nearby, so it was perfect for leaving the car and taking public transport to enjoy a worry-free drink. 👍 Here's my review of Dari Yeodeolgae, a great spot near Suyeong Station~

The restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and isn't that octopus illustration just adorable? haha

There are bar seats facing the kitchen, a main hall, and a window bar table for two — a great fit whether you're meeting friends, on a date, or having a work dinner.

We came in early evening, and the place filled up fast with company dinners, dates, and other guests. I'd recommend booking ahead 👍👍

We ordered the boiled octopus (medium, 44,000 won) and beef yukjeon (26,000 won).

We ordered the yukjeon (beef pan-fried with egg batter) as insurance in case someone in our group didn't eat octopus... but wow, in the end it turned out to be such a perfect choice, I don't know what we'd have done without it! 🥩✨
Free starters and one bowl of clam soup per person

After ordering, a neat set of basic side dishes came out! Dried filefish, quail egg konjac braise, and stir-fried fish cake. The dipping sauces were so good too — dunking the filefish in the sauce just melted in my mouth, and I felt great from the very start. 😋

On top of that, each person gets their own bowl of clam soup. It was a little chilly that night, and taking a sip of that soup warmed me all the way through, felt like the blood was flowing again haha. The broth was refreshing, perfect for settling the stomach before the main dishes arrived.

Finally, the boiled octopus and yukjeon arrived! The presentation was amazing. 👏
Is the boiled octopus chewy? How Dari Yeodeolgae cooks it

Dari Yeodeolgae's boiled octopus comes on a genuinely huge, wide plate, sliced thin and arranged beautifully. Legs, body, innards — it's a generous mix, and it was really tender.
Octopus is tricky — overcook it and it gets tough, undercook it and there's a problem too. I remember once at a company dinner having octopus blanched almost raw, and I just couldn't eat it... Getting the doneness right is the whole game, and Dari Yeodeolgae nailed it! Really, perfectly tender.

Scooping up several pieces at once with chopsticks and dipping them in the sauce was pure heaven. Seriously so good. The sesame oil dip loaded with minced garlic and chili was fragrant, and the special chojang (vinegared chili sauce) was sweet and spicy — so, so good! I'll certify this place as a chojang expert. 🔥
The octopus itself is so tender that even grabbing multiple pieces at once, none of it was chewy — stuffing my mouth full of octopus and chewing doubled the happiness 🧡🧡

🥩 The side act that stole the show: nakyeopsal yukjeon
The beef yukjeon that was supposed to be our insurance option... I thought it'd play second fiddle, but today it was the star of the table! 👑

The beef slices are thick and each piece of yukjeon is large too, so it fills a whole plate generously. And best of all, the scallion salad on top isn't just a token sprinkle — it's piled up high, which made me, someone who loves scallions, extremely happy. From start to finish I loaded up each piece of yukjeon with scallions and never ran out. 🌿

Yukjeon is usually made with lean beef cuts, which can end up dry, but I found myself wondering 'how did they make this?' — the meat was genuinely tender. Paired with the sweet, salty pickle sauce, it's just outrageous... I ate so happily that I'd wholeheartedly recommend this dish!
Final verdict on Dari Yeodeolgae
If you're visiting Gwangalli and looking for a place to leave the car and enjoy a happy drink, I recommend Dari Yeodeolgae! From the perfectly tender boiled octopus to the thick, soft beef yukjeon piled high with scallion salad, this is a legendary side-dish combo. With generous basic side dishes and warm clam soup on top, it's absolutely worth stopping by when you're near Suyeong Station or Gwangalli.
Boiled octopus with zero chewiness, paired with yukjeon piled high with scallion salad — an insane combo! A great spot for food and drinks near Suyeong Station
