Suyeong Station Korean pub with cheese potato pancake: Buheongsanjang
In short
Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch is a two-floor Korean dining pub about 2-3 minutes on foot from Exit 5 of Suyeong Station in Busan. Cutting the cheese potato pancake with scissors sends mozzarella pouring out like a waterfall, and the Suyeong branch's signature onari-jjim (steamed squid, 18,000 won) comes with a whole squid under a pile of minari (water dropwort), bean sprouts, baby napa cabbage and oyster mushrooms, so it stays light. With yakgwa ice cream (Korean honey cookie with ice cream, 5,500 won) to finish, Buheongsanjang works equally well for dinner with a drink or a late second round.

Today I visited a stylish spot near Suyeong Station in downtown Busan — Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch. 😊

Where is Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch, and what are its hours?
Buheongsanjang Suyeong branch is located at 110 Muhak-ro 21beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, 1st-2nd floor. It's about 2-3 minutes on foot from Exit 5 of Suyeong Station on Line 2/3, and it's open daily from 17:00 to 02:00, until 4am on Fridays and Saturdays.

It's right by Suyeong Station, so the accessibility is amazing! It's a casual Korean dining pub that works great whether you're stopping by for a proper meal or a light drink afterward.

Mountain-lodge exterior and window seats at Buheongsanjang
Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch gives off the feeling of a real mountain lodge from the outside! It's a two-story building, and the warm yellow light glowing softly through the windows creates such a cozy vibe.

There's a lovely wood-burning stove interior detail right at the entrance, which makes it feel like you've come deep into the mountains for a camping trip.

Thanks to the full window facing the street, you can enjoy an open view even from inside, and the whole interior is kept very clean. The staff were so friendly too, making it the perfect place to relax with a drink!

The complimentary snack: Jerusalem artichoke chips
🥔 A treat you reach for the moment you sit down! As soon as you sit at Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch, they bring out Jerusalem artichoke chips as the basic side dish. They're so nutty and crispy that I found myself popping them into my mouth without even thinking about it! A perfect appetizer for whetting your appetite before the meal.

Cheese potato pancake: a mozzarella waterfall when you cut it
🧀 Crispy outside, gooey inside, mozzarella explosion! The first main dish to arrive was Buheongsanjang's signature and unbeatable combination — the cheese potato pancake.

It's pan-fried with finely shredded potato threads stuffed full of mozzarella cheese. Rather than a big round shape, it comes folded into a half-moon shape holding the cheese inside, and it looks mouthwatering just from its appearance.

The harmony between the nutty, golden, crispy potato threads and the moist, savory mozzarella cheese inside is a work of art.

There's a nice touch of the staff giving you tongs and a big pair of scissors to cut the cheese potato pancake with!

The moment you snip the golden pancake with the scissors, the mozzarella cheese trapped inside bursts out endlessly like a waterfall — quite a spectacle.
The crispy potato exterior meeting the flowing waterfall of cheese fills your mouth with an ultimate nuttiness and richness — truly top-notch!
Three sauces to try with the cheese potato pancake
- Dipped in the soy sauce that comes with it, you get the deep, traditional flavor of Korean pancake.
- Dipped in ketchup, it takes on a different, fun flavor almost like eating potato fries — a great combination!
- And paired with the green onion kimchi served alongside — need I say more? It's incredibly delicious!

Signature onari-jjim (steamed squid), 18,000 won
🦑 The ultimate squid dish, exclusive to the Suyeong branch! The second dish we ordered was Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch's own signature squid dish — onari-jjim (steamed squid, ₩18,000)!

A whole squid, cleaned and packed with fillet, sits inside the steamer, alongside minari (water dropwort), bean sprouts, napa cabbage, and oyster mushrooms — all healthy vegetables piled in generously.
It comes served warm straight from the steamer, and the moment you lift the lid, steam rises gently — just watching it warms your heart.

The squid is very cleanly prepared and steamed just right, so it's plump and chewy!

Dipped in chojang (vinegared chili paste), you get the wonderfully nutty flavor of parboiled squid, and eating it together with the minari especially — the fresh taste of the minari blending with the squid is an amazing combination.

It paired so well together that it made me think I should steam minari together with squid next time I make parboiled squid at home! 👍🏻😍

The bean sprouts, napa cabbage, and mushrooms are also great in texture and good for you. When you're drinking, if you're too full, you can't drink much, right? But this dish was light, healthy, and fresh, so it was a great, guilt-free option.

Yakgwa ice cream, 5,500 won: dessert and last bite in one
🍨 Dessert or bar snack? Don't ask! The last thing we ordered was the perfect finishing dish, whether as dessert or drinking snack — yakgwa (honey cookie) ice cream (₩5,500)!

Two very generous scoops of vanilla ice cream come topped with mini yakgwa, surrounded by sprinkled puffed rice powder. Chocolate syrup is drizzled on top too — it looks so delicious just to look at, and the portion is really generous for the price!

The vanilla ice cream is delicious on its own, and paired with the puffed rice it becomes crunchy while the ice cream stays soft — a very harmonious combination. And the pairing of chewy yakgwa with cold ice cream is exactly the trendy combo everyone's into these days!

After a drink, a bite of ice cream makes for such a smooth snack, and for anyone who doesn't drink, it works great as dessert too.

Is Buheongsanjang better for dinner or a late-night second round?
Thanks to the clean, open window views, Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch has a pleasant, never-stuffy atmosphere, and thanks to the attentive, friendly staff, I felt cozy the whole time I was there.

It's a place that guarantees 200% satisfaction — whether as a solid spot to start a first round with a hearty meal and drinks, or as a laid-back second-round spot for delicious snacks and emptying your glass! If you're looking for a place with real atmosphere near Suyeong Station, I highly recommend spending an unforgettable, cozy night at Buheongsanjang Busan Suyeong branch! 💕
