Ingye-dong pork bone soup in Suwon: regular vs special bone count
In short
Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is a 24-hour pork bone soup restaurant in Ingye-dong, Paldal-gu, Suwon, Gyeonggi. An early dinner of ppyeo haejangguk (pork bone soup, 10,000 won) and the special ppyeo haejangguk (14,000 won), both ordered at regular spice, showed a clear gap of 3-4 bones versus 6-7 bones, and even regular spice had a smoky, Shin Ramyun-level kick. With 2 hours of free parking in the building's underground lot, group seating and a self-serve bar, Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk is a good-value spot in Ingye-dong for a filling meal.

Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk is a 24-hour pork bone soup spot in Ingye-dong, Suwon, famous for its spicy flavor.
Where is Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch, and when is it open?
Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch is at 52 Gyeongsu-daero 466beon-gil, Dramacity 104-105, Paldal-gu, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, and it's open 24 hours. Parking is free for 2 hours in the building's underground lot.
I went craving a warm bowl of ppyeo haejangguk (pork bone soup), and headed to Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk Suwon Ingye Branch. True to its name, which means "spicy," the broth here really delivers on heat. It's open 24 hours, so it's great for lunch, or for a late-night bowl to sober up after drinks before heading home.

You get 2 hours free parking in the building's underground lot, and spots are usually plentiful, which is convenient. A restaurant or bar in Ingye-dong with actual parking? That's rare and precious.
Inside the restaurant: group tables for big parties

The interior is spacious and clean, with group seating available too. Seems like a perfect first stop in Ingye-dong before heading out for round two at a bar, right?
The menu and the spice levels explained

- Ppyeo haejangguk ₩10,000 (regular/mild spice)
- Seonji haejangguk ₩11,000 (regular/mild spice)
- Special ppyeo haejangguk ₩14,000 (regular/mild spice)
- Eolkeunhan (spicy) +₩1,000 / Haek-eolkeunhan (extra spicy) +₩2,000
- Ppyeo jeongol Small ₩29,000 / Medium ₩38,000 / Large ₩48,000
We ordered ppyeo haejangguk and special ppyeo haejangguk, both in regular spice. Even the regular level had a subtle smoky heat, and it was spicy enough for me despite being pretty good with spicy food — maybe about Shin Ramyun level? I'd recommend eolkeunhan or haek-eolkeunhan for those who really love spicy food. If you're spice-shy, order the mild version.

Every menu item is available for takeout, rice is an extra ₩1,000, and raw (uncooked) takeout orders come with an extra bone service. Takeout portions are usually bigger than what you get eating in-store, so it's worth ordering to-go and eating at home too.
Banchan (side dishes) and the self-serve bar

The kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) and pickled onions weren't too sour, just nicely fermented.

You can help yourself freely at the self-serve bar like this.
Regular vs special ppyeo haejangguk: how many bones in each?

On top is the special ppyeo haejangguk, below is the regular. They look similar at first glance, but the basic bowl has 3-4 bones while the special has about 6-7. If you're a big-eating adult man, I'd recommend the special — it feels like double the amount for just a ₩4,000 difference!

The bones are seriously huge. With about 3 hefty bones plus 1 smaller one, even the basic ppyeo haejangguk feels generous for its ₩10,000 price tag. Part of the fun of ppyeo haejangguk is picking the meat off the bone, haha, and with bones this big, the meat was tender and clean with no gamey smell — really tasty. These days ₩10,000 barely gets you a bowl of soup anywhere, so this is such good value, haha. There aren't many lunch options in Ingye-dong, but this place is great for a filling, budget-friendly meal.
How spicy is the regular-spice broth?

One sip of the broth and a spicy, smoky heat rose right up — so delicious. Even the regular spice level packs a punch! It's great as a hangover cure or just as a spicy bowl to enjoy with drinks. The broth was so flavorful that I bet the ugeoji (napa cabbage) ppyeo haejangguk would've been amazing too, haha. I'll have to order that next time.
Since it's open 24 hours, I'd also recommend Eolkeunhan Ppyeo Haejangguk for a solo lunch in Ingye-dong. When we actually went, it was early evening and there were a lot of people eating alone. This is the kind of place I'll want to come back to whenever I'm craving a spicy broth. Next time I'll come for the ppyeo jeongol with a shot of soju.

Nice touch: they even have floss, candy, and coffee ready by the register. So much better than just toothpicks!!!
