Call-ahead pickup of front-leg jokbal in Bupyeong: Jangmo Jokbal
In short
Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch is a 17-year-old jokbal (braised pig's trotter) restaurant a 3-minute walk from Bupyeong Market Station in Incheon. The order was the front-leg original plus a large mak guksu (cold buckwheat noodles), phoned in ahead and picked up in person; the skin stayed chewy and the meat tender even after it cooled. Ssam vegetables, radish kimchi and chive kimchi came packed in as well, so the takeout made a full table at home with nothing else to prepare.

After my husband's hair salon visit in Bupyeong, I was trying to figure out a dinner everyone — kids and adults alike — would enjoy, and I stopped by Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch, a 17-year-old old-school favorite near Bupyeong Market. It's so well known as a Bupyeong jokbal spot that I trusted it without hesitation.

When you're eating jokbal (pig's trotter) at home, the quantity and composition really matter, and the combo I ordered this time — front-leg original plus mak guksu (large) — was honestly perfect.

I finally understood why everyone insists on ordering mak guksu with their jokbal — one bite and it clicked.
Where is Jangmo Jokbal, and what are the hours?
Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch is about 180m from Exit 3 of Bupyeong Market Station, an easy walk. The address is 264 Buheung-ro, Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea, Donga Wellbeing Town 104. There's also underground parking in the building, which is very convenient if you're driving.
It's open daily from 4:00 PM to midnight, so it works great for dinner and also as a late-night bite if you suddenly crave jokbal.

The place isn't huge, but the tables are set up nicely for a cozy meal.

Watching a steady stream of takeout customers come and go while I was there, I could tell this is a genuine neighborhood favorite.

On the wall, various framed awards, certificates and signatures showing the owner's honesty and years of experience gave me even more confidence in the place.
Front-leg original jokbal: chewy skin, tender meat

This time I ordered the basic front-leg original.

They started breaking down the jokbal as soon as I ordered.

When I'm trying a jokbal restaurant for the first time, I always go for the original before any of the fancier menu items,

because it's the best way to fully taste the meat's natural flavor and texture without any sauce covering it up.

Jangmo Jokbal's front leg looked glossy from the moment it appeared.

Tasting it, the skin was chewy while the meat underneath was very tender.

I heard it's boiled with about 20 different medicinal herbs, and there was no gamy smell at all — the balance between the springy skin and moist meat was excellent.

The soft flavor while it's warm is the best part. Even after taking it home in a takeout container, the meat barely dried out as it cooled, so I enjoyed it right to the last bite.
What comes with the takeout: ssam greens, radish kimchi, chive kimchi

It wasn't just jokbal sitting alone in the box — ssam vegetables, chili peppers, garlic, perilla leaves, plus radish kimchi, chive kimchi, salted shrimp and ssamjang were all neatly packed in, making a complete spread at home without needing to prepare anything extra.

The radish kimchi especially stood out to me — its crunch between bites of the soft jokbal refreshed my palate each time.
The sharp, fragrant chive kimchi was also a fantastic match for the jokbal, so I ended up adding it into every ssam wrap. Having such generous side dishes included is probably the biggest appeal of ordering takeout — no extra shopping or prep needed.
Why add a large mak guksu to the jokbal order?
Jokbal without mak guksu always feels like something's missing.

I splurged and got the large size of mak guksu this time, and its spicy-tangy seasoning kept my appetite going the whole meal.

The crisp fresh vegetables and chewy noodles paired with the jokbal cut through the richness of the meat,

and I honestly couldn't put my chopsticks down — it was addictive.
2,000 won off when you pick up in person

Jangmo Jokbal is currently running a promotion offering ₩2,000 off when you pick up your order in person. I called ahead to order, so I could grab the food the moment I arrived — barely any waiting. Is Jangmo Jokbal worth the trip? Final verdict

This was a great no-brainer stop when I was out in Bupyeong and stuck on what to have for dinner. Jangmo Jokbal Bupyeong Market Station Branch delivered on both taste and generous portions.

The front-leg original had no gamy smell at all and was chewy yet tender, and the generous side dishes — including radish kimchi and chive kimchi — let me enjoy the full flavor of jokbal at home. Pairing it with the sweet-and-tangy mak guksu meant I ate every last bite without feeling greasy. With a location close to the station and a takeout discount on top, it's worth a visit whenever you're stuck on what to make for a family dinner or late-night snack.
