Dongjak bar for a second round: chicken-feet set at Rainbow Pocha Isu

I was looking for a good second-round spot near Isu Station and ended up at Rainbow Pocha because I liked the retro vibe. It's the perfect atmosphere for chicken feet and soju, so let me introduce it to anyone wanting a simple second round!

Rainbow Pocha is about a 5-minute walk from Isu Station, so it's easy to get to. The building itself is pretty big so it's easy to spot from far away!

The place is split into 1st and 2nd floors, with a variety of tables set up. It looked good for visiting with friends or coming as a bigger group.

I especially liked the vibe on the 2nd floor. There are pyeongsang-style floor seats and the whole place is decorated with a retro feel. Love this kind of vibe~~

We were looking for an Isu Station bar for a second round, so we ordered mostly dishes that go well with drinks.

The free starter: sweet potato sticks

Sweet potato sticks came out as the basic side dish. Light and nutty, good for snacking on before the drinks arrived.

The 32,900-won chicken-feet soup set: boneless dakbal, rice balls, steamed egg

The boneless dakbal, rice ball, egg custard set we ordered! It comes with boneless chicken feet + rice ball + steamed egg. We added 7 quail eggs for ₩1,500. Dakbal, rice ball, and steamed egg — isn't that basically the classic combo, haha.

The chicken feet are boneless, so I liked being able to eat them easily without picking out bones. For reference, they also have the bone-in version!

The steamed egg is light and delicious too. When your mouth starts burning from the spicy dakbal, one spoonful of this and it's a perfect balance 👍

Dipping it in the bubbling chicken feet soup broth makes it so good, ugh~~

The spicy sauce was well soaked into the chicken feet, making it a perfect drinking snack.

Hangover-relief jelly is on the menu too

They also sell hangover-relief jelly. Since the food was so good, I had a feeling we'd end up drinking a lot, so I ordered one halfway through, haha.

Finishing with bingsu topped with a World Cone

We ordered a bingsu (shaved ice dessert) to finish. It comes with a whole World Cone ice cream cone on top, so the visual alone is explosive..! With the sweet shaved ice and ice cream together, it was great for cleansing the palate after the spicy chicken feet.

My friend said the dried-apricot flavored Saero was really good these days, so I tried it too, and it was better than expected. It's sweet with a fruity aroma, so it doesn't have soju's usual bitterness and goes down easy like a soft drink. So that night we finished 2 bottles of regular Saero and 2 bottles of the apricot soju, 4 bottles total, and headed home, haha.
