Hello, this is your neighbor from Guui-dong. When I heard another meat restaurant had opened in Guui-dong, I couldn't resist as a meat lover — off I went. Weirdly enough, there's already another iron-lid BBQ place right next door, yet this new spot opened up so confidently anyway?? Curious about what makes it stand out, I paid a visit to Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal.

What does a meat company-run BBQ restaurant get you?
One of the things I liked most was that they stay open comfortably until midnight. Perfect for a late dinner or when you're craving a late-night meal.
On top of that, this restaurant is run directly by a meat production company based on Umiraerae-gil 6, so I felt a solid sense of trust that the meat quality would be a cut above. The interior felt like two restaurants merged into one — the tables were wide, and even on a late weekend evening there were plenty of diners enjoying their meals, making it clear this place is already becoming known as a must-visit meat restaurant near Guui Station.
Free-refill wrap greens and the giant iron-lid grill

The menu had a wide variety of cuts, but since it was my first visit, I went with the basic and essential order: iron-lid pork belly for two.

After the basic setup, you can freely grab as much extra wrap greens or side dishes as you like from the self-serve bar. The wrap greens are kept fresh in a dedicated fridge and come in many varieties, making this the perfect meat restaurant in Guui-dong for anyone who loves ssam (wrapped lettuce bites).

First, they heat up the massive grill plate and then lay the meat down. The iron lid is so huge that the portion of meat can look small in comparison, but it's really not.

Normally the staff will kindly come around and pre-grill the meat for you, but since I'm truly serious about grilling meat and a bit impatient by nature, I picked up the tongs myself and flipped the meat, diligently getting everything ready to eat.

With sweet pumpkin, enoki mushrooms, garlic, kimchi, bean sprouts, and seasoned bracken fern all piled colorfully across the grill, just the sight of it made my mouth water. Piling well-cooked meat, bean sprouts, garlic, and ssamjang (wrap dipping sauce) onto a fresh wrap green, and especially adding the perfectly seasoned bracken fern for a full bite, brought a happiness like having the whole world in your hands.

Pork skin dipped in curry powder, then spicy bibim cold noodles

True to being run by a meat company, they served up great cuts of meat and I was thoroughly satisfied, so to keep the momentum going I ordered extra pork skin. Pork skin tastes best when grilled slowly and gently over low heat, so I recommend adding it early while you're still eating the main meat and letting it cook a long time at the edge of the grill.

The pork skin had precise cross-hatch cuts with seasoning soaked all the way through, and dipping it into the curry powder they serve alongside brings out an explosion of chewy texture and savory flavor — really delicious.

To finish things off cleanly, I ordered the spicy mixed cold noodles. It wasn't too strong or spicy, so anyone can enjoy it without worry, and a chilled broth is served on the side so you can pour it in to taste and enjoy it nice and moist.
Final verdict on Ssamchae Sotttukkeong Samgyeopsal
Having experienced the restaurant firsthand, there's more than one point that satisfies as a customer. The thoughtfulness of letting you choose between an iron lid or charcoal grill really stands out. Beyond pork belly, you can also try a wide range of meats in one place, like Guui-dong royal beef short rib skirt and Jayang-dong royal beef short rib skirt, giving you plenty of choice. With such high-quality meat and fresh wrap greens available in unlimited amounts at a reasonable price, I'd highly recommend this to anyone nearby looking for a good Jayang-dong rib restaurant or a Jayang-dong meat restaurant that's great for group dinners.
