Seated outdoors at a low table beside the stone bridge with two children, the writer ordered gorgonzola pizza, aglio olio, bulgogi risotto and passionfruit ade, and the kids cleaned their plates down to the last chopped spring onion. If you want somewhere to eat with children without worrying about the other tables, the outdoor seats at Someday Romance are the answer.

Robl Beauty is a total beauty salon inside Share Avenue in Doan-dong, Seo-gu, Daejeon, next to Mokwon University, offering semi-permanent eyebrows, lips and lash lifts. The writer arrived with sparse, noticeably asymmetrical brow tails and had semi-arch combo eyebrows done in about 20 minutes, with both the front and the tail lengths evened out. Three days on the brows still looked natural and not at all drawn on, so Robl Beauty is worth a look even for anyone whose first semi-permanent brows went wrong.

Daejeon theater show with liquid nitrogen clouds: Magician JT

Magician JT's Science Lab is an audience-participation science magic show staged at the small theater of Pyeongsong Youth Culture Center (평송청소년문화센터) in Seo-gu, Daejeon. A child from the audience went up on stage for static-electricity levitation and balloon popping, and the show also demonstrated elephant toothpaste made with hydrogen peroxide and clouds created with liquid nitrogen at -190°C. At 25,000 won for all seats, Magician JT's Science Lab is a show kids and parents can genuinely enjoy together.
