Bucheon Chinese restaurant for a date before a movie: Glory Works
In short
Glory Works is a Chinese restaurant on the 1st floor of Sigma Tower, a 2–3 minute walk from Exit 8 of Sangdong Station in Bucheon, with a modern dining room. On a hot August evening before a movie, the writer and her boyfriend shared the set of garlic tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork), jjajang, seafood jjamppong and a drink for 33,000 won, and the jjajangmyeon topped with a crispy fried egg and the deeply garlicky tangsuyuk stood out most. What was meant to be a light meal turned into a filling one, making Glory Works an easy pick for a date course.

On a hot August day, my boyfriend and I were trying to figure out what to eat before a movie, and I got a huge craving for Chinese food! We ended up at Glory Works, right in front of Sangdong Station in Bucheon. I told myself "let's keep it light before the movie," but between the jjajang, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk... we walked out stuffed again haha.
How to get to Glory Works in Bucheon, and where to park
Glory Works is just a 2–3 minute walk from Exit 8 of Sangdong Station (Line 7)! It's such a great spot to stop by right after work, and since it's on the 1st floor of Sigma Tower, drivers can register for 3 hours of free parking too.

There's a standing menu board outside, so you can check the menu before you even walk in!

What the dining room at Glory Works feels like
The moment I walked in, it felt way cleaner and more modern than I expected! Not the usual Chinese-restaurant look at all — dark green fabric sofas run along the wall, paired with wood tables and chairs for a pretty sleek feel.

The window side is floor-to-ceiling glass, so it felt open and bright. Even though the place was nearly full when we went in the evening, we got seated right away with no wait!
You can grab extra side dishes or dishware yourself from the self-serve bar.
Glory Works menu and prices
The Glory Works menu is split into Noodle & Rice, Fry, and Set sections.
- Jjajangmyeon/jjajangbap ₩8,000
- Seafood jjamppong/jjamppongbap ₩10,000
- Garlic tangsuyuk ₩20,000 / Yurin-gi ₩25,000
- Kkanpunggi, chili shrimp, cream shrimp, kkanpung shrimp ₩25,000 each
The set menu is especially good value! Garlic tangsuyuk + jjajang + seafood jjamppong + drink = ₩33,000, letting two people try a nice variety without much pressure on the wallet. That's the set we ordered! There was even a candy jar by the register for a little something after the meal, which was a nice touch :)
What we ordered: the 33,000-won set
Jjajangmyeon with a crispy fried egg
The first thing that caught my eye on Glory Works' jjajangmyeon (₩8,000) was the fried egg. Not the usual poached-egg style — the edges were crisped up almost like they'd been fried, and eating it together with the jjajang sauce was seriously a treat!! The jjajang sauce itself wasn't too sweet or salty either, seasoned just right so you could eat it all the way through without getting sick of it. This is the kind of jjajang that would probably taste amazing mixed with rice too!
Seafood jjamppong
The seafood jjamppong (₩10,000) had a refreshing yet spicy, clean flavor. It was loaded with seafood, but the broth wasn't greasy at all — just clean and sharp-spicy, the kind where one spoonful instantly clears your head! Everything felt purposeful with nothing extra thrown in, and the more I ate, the more I liked it.
Garlic tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour pork)
Honestly, the garlic tangsuyuk (₩20,000) was today's MVP. The crispiness was next level, and looking at the sauce, it seemed like finely minced garlic was mixed right in — dip a piece and take a bite, and the garlic flavor hits hard, on a whole different level from regular tangsuyuk. If you love tangsuyuk, this alone is worth the trip!

I came home completely won over by the tangsuyuk! The garlic tangsuyuk alone is enough reason to come back, and I think I'll keep thinking about that fried egg on the jjajang too haha.
