Luone City briquette BBQ: 4,900-won bibimbap and dwitgogi, Euljiro
In short
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch is a retro Korean BBQ restaurant near Gajeong Station Exit 6 in Seo-gu, Incheon, where pork belly and pork neck start at 5,900 won per 100g and are grilled over yeontan (coal briquettes). The writer, who always had naengmyeon (cold noodles) with meat, ordered 100g of dwitgogi (pork trimmings) and 200g of beef short rib and, for the first time, added a 4,900-won bibimbap and a 2,000-won doenjang (soybean paste) stew, and loved the bibimbap, which has more vegetables than rice. At Euljiro Yeontan Gui, order the bibimbap instead of fried rice after the meat.

Euljiro Yeontan Gui, Luone City

What kind of Korean BBQ restaurant is Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch?
Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch is a great-value BBQ spot near Gajeong Station where about ₩10,000 a head gets you briquette-grilled meat and a rice dish too. This is my review of the amazing bibimbap I discovered at this Gajeong Station BBQ place I visit all the time..🥹👍🏻
Fresh meat grilled over briquettes, with pork belly and pork neck from ₩5,900 per 100g! There's also pork jowl (hangjeongsal) and pork skirt (galmaegisal), plus beef short rib, beef skirt, marinated pork ribs, and even seafood like grilled scallops and pen shell. It's truly an all-in-one family dining spot in Luone City. The prices are super cheap and the meat quality is excellent too, so it's an Incheon Seo-gu BBQ place I often go to when meeting up with friends from the neighborhood.
I always had only naengmyeon (cold noodles) with my meat, but this time I ordered the ₩4,900 bibimbap for the first time, and it has so many types of namul (seasoned vegetables), tastes great, and the portion is big. Truly a bibimbap I want you to try!!!! Here's my detailed review, from the side dishes to the meat to today's newly discovered bibimbap. Let's go~

The restaurant is a 5-minute walk from Gajeong Station Exit 6, on the first floor of Three M Tower at the entrance to the Luone City food alley. Euljiro Yeontan Gui's signature green retro sign makes it easy to spot.
You can use the building's underground parking lot. There's plenty of space, and parking is free for up to 3 hours.

Inside Euljiro Yeontan Gui
The interior is nostalgic, homey and retro. It's a nice place for a family meal or for drinks with friends over briquette-grilled meat. Every table has its own briquette fire, so it's a Gajeong-dong pork belly and pork neck spot where you grill over hot briquettes. We grabbed a seat and ordered right away.

How do you order at Euljiro Yeontan Gui?
Every table at the Luone City Branch has an order kiosk, so you can order while looking at menu descriptions and photos.

Each meat is sold by the 100g, and the first order must be at least 300g. From the signature pork belly and pork neck at ₩5,900 to beef short rib at ₩8,900, it's meat at truly kind prices!
Big eaters get lots of food cheaply, and light eaters can order just the 300g minimum, so you can order just the right amount. I especially liked that you can mix 100g each of pork and beef when you want both.🥹 Besides meat, you can also have shellfish like scallops and pen shell.
I ordered dwitgogi (pork scraps from the back of the pig, around the hindquarters) that my husband wanted, plus the beef short rib I wanted. I think Euljiro Yeontan Gui is the only place in Luone City where you can eat this combination👍🏻

Right now there's a review event where you get Hangang ramyeon as a freebie. Finish your meat with a refreshing dessert-like noodle bowl.👏🏻

What side dishes come at Euljiro Yeontan Gui?
All the side dishes at Euljiro Yeontan Gui are refillable at the self-bar. First come pickled onions and a perilla leaf and lettuce salad, and that salad's sauce is spicy, tangy and delicious. It's the kind of appetite-boosting spicy sauce that turns spring cabbage into a spring cabbage salad and chives into a chive salad.🥹

There's also seasoned bean sprouts, cabbage kimchi and raw garlic to grill on the grill plate, plus wrap vegetables: perilla leaves and lettuce.

The signature icy radish salad (musaengchae) is chewier than ordinary radish salad, with a really strong spicy-sour-sweet seasoning. They also give ssamjang (wrap sauce) and salt for dipping.
Attention, soju drinkers~~ This is a spicy bean sprout soup that makes you crave soju from the first sip. The ingredients look nothing special, but the deep savory flavor and spicy broth keep you spooning it up.

How do the 100g dwitgogi and 200g beef short rib look?
Today's meat platter was 100g dwitgogi and 200g beef short rib. They gave us king oyster mushrooms as a freebie to grill alongside.

The dwitgogi has milky white fat and deep pink lean meat, and looks fresh. The beef short rib is a vivid red, clearly "I'm beef!", and nicely trimmed with the fat properly removed.👍🏻

How is the ₩2,000 doenjang stew at Euljiro Yeontan Gui?
I ordered the bibimbap, and the partner of bibimbap is of course doenjang (fermented soybean paste) broth! It's so cheap that I ordered the ₩2,000 doenjang stew without a second thought.
It's a spicy, savory BBQ-restaurant doenjang stew with tofu, zucchini, onion and Cheongyang chili. No unnecessary flavors, just nicely spicy and clean, so the broth works as a side for rice and as a snack for drinks. And the soft tofu soaked in that savory stew broth? Need I say more, so good!

Is the ₩4,900 bibimbap at Euljiro Yeontan Gui really good?
This is what I came for today..🥹 The hidden menu item at Euljiro Yeontan Gui, the bibimbap, is a generous, hearty bowl for a kind ₩4,900, with 5 toppings and a runny fried egg on top.

It comes in a naengmyeon bowl piled so high with namul that you can't even see the rice. It's too much as a side for one person, so it's good to share as a meal between two or three. After the meat, try this bibimbap instead of the usual fried rice.👍🏻
The rice is already seasoned with red sauce. With the yak-gochujang (beef-stir-fried chili paste) and sesame oil, the nutty smell while mixing already had me drooling, I can't resist this...🤤🤤

Daaaamn!!! So!!! Good!!!
First, the bean sprouts, radish salad and stir-fried seaweed stems taste like the neat Korean namul you'd buy at a banchan shop. Add the gim (seaweed) flakes for extra nuttiness and the crunchy lettuce, and it isn't the kind of bibimbap you throw together at home to clear out the fridge, it tastes like it came from a bibimbap specialty restaurant. And there's far more namul than rice, so good!
Tip for adjusting the saltiness of the bibimbap
The bibimbap is richly seasoned, nutty and spicy, so if you like things less salty, tear up perilla leaves and lettuce and toss them in to tone down the saltiness and add crunch, however you like. Likewise, adding the bean sprout and radish side dishes makes it stronger in flavor and bigger in volume!!

How do the briquette-grilled dwitgogi and beef short rib taste?
The well-grilled dwitgogi is delicious too...😇 Even the fat is chewy, not fatty at all. With that springy, chewy texture, deep meaty flavor and rough briquette smoke, it's already perfect just dipped in salt..

The beef short rib with briquette aroma is great too, beef short rib is my favorite lately..🥹 They seem to use good meat, and the briquette fire pairs so well with it that the flavor is upgraded 3 or 4 times over. It's amazing in a wrap too,,,

Final verdict on Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch
I ate until I was full! Euljiro Yeontan Gui Luone City Branch is a great-value BBQ spot near Gajeong Station for cheap briquette pork belly and pork neck. You can order by 100g, so you can mix whatever meats you like, and it also serves grilled shellfish, not just meat. The sides and meal items are cheap too, so it's easy to enjoy a full spread.
I especially recommend the Euljiro Yeontan Gui bibimbap, where the portion, value and taste are all crazy good🥹 Compared with buying each namul at a banchan shop and making it at home, ordering it here gives you more food at a much lower price. Instead of fried rice after the meal, I highly recommend bibimbap after the meal!!!!
