Blackhead cleansing balm for oily skin: HEEDA Jirisan Charcoal
In short
HEEDA Jirisan Moist Charcoal Cleansing Balm is a Korean cleansing balm tested on oily skin with pore and blackhead concerns. Its soft texture and moisturized post-wash feel stood out, though blackheads did not dramatically disappear after a few uses. Verdict: gentle and hydrating, but not a quick blackhead fix.

What is the texture like on oily skin?

I tried it on my oily skin, where pores and blackheads are always a concern. The case was black, and the cleansing balm itself was black too. There was a small spatula on the lid, which made it easy to scoop out without getting it directly on my hands. After opening it, I removed the clear plastic inner lid in the center before using it.

I expected a firm balm texture, but it was much softer than I thought. It left a mark just from the spatula touching it, and when I applied it to my skin, it spread on smoothly without any pressure.

How did I use it?

I spread it evenly over my dry face, then massaged in circular motions, focusing on blackhead- and pore-prone areas. For heavier makeup, I massaged lightly, added water to emulsify it, and rinsed with lukewarm water.

Did it remove eyebrow makeup and eyeshadow well?
I do not usually wear heavy color makeup, so I removed eyebrow makeup and eyeshadow first. Even before adding water, it felt oily and soft, and I could massage it in without much irritation. After a light massage, I emulsified it with water and rinsed with lukewarm water, and it came off cleanly without a separate cleansing oil.

How did it feel around blackheads and pores?

When I used it mainly on the blackheads around my nose and the pores on my cheeks, it felt softer and more moisturizing than the cleansing oil I had been using. Rather than completely smoothing out my skin texture, it seemed to reduce the rough feel around blackheads and pores, and my skin felt more hydrated than dry after washing.

Is there a difference when using it after peeling?

When I used it right away without peeling, the texture was soft, but it felt slightly at odds with the roughness of my skin. After smoothing out my skin texture first and using it again, my skin felt much softer and more moisturized after washing.

Did blackheads change after several uses?

My blackheads did not all visibly disappear after just a few uses. Still, the darker-looking areas seemed a little lighter, and the bumpy, rough feeling around my nose seemed to lessen slightly too. I wanted to keep using a full jar and watch for more changes.
