I went to Cuisine R, a popular restaurant near Yeouido Station where you can properly enjoy Italian food. My husband and I especially love pasta, so we often eat Italian together.

Cuisine R is a 5-minute walk from Yeouido Station Exit 5, and a 10-minute walk from Saetgang Station Exit 1. It's on the 2nd floor of the Baeksang Building, where you can spot a 7-Eleven. Free 2-hour parking is available in the basement of the Baeksang Building.

The window seats, with sunlight gently streaming in, almost make you feel like you're sitting at the famous Caffè Gilli in Florence. Thanks to the natural light filtering through the blinds, everyone looks prettier too — magic ✨ It's also perfect for a Yeouido blind date or Italian date!

This is Cuisine R's popular dish, Bottarga pasta. The soft rosé sauce is loaded generously with nutty pollock roe and vivid red herring roe. Wild semogasari seaweed and cherry tomatoes complete the plating.

The red herring roe, with its artistically bursting texture, is one of my favorites. With salty herring roe and nutty pollock roe piled generously, how could it not be delicious?

Ahh — scooping it up with a fork, the herring roe and pollock roe are alive in little beads throughout the noodles. One bite and you get that pop-pop-pop lively texture ringing through your mouth, with a salty umami that's artful — this Bottarga pasta. Truly the deep skill of a 27-year veteran owner-chef at a Yeouido pasta spot.

Wow~~ why is the Bottarga pasta so good? The soft, deeply savory rosé sauce with nutty pollock roe, salty herring roe, and the chewy texture of semogasari seaweed keeps pulling you back in — totally addictive. And spreading it on bread? Chef's kiss ♥ You get the nutty, salty, chewy textures together with the deep richness of the soft rosé cream and butter all at once.
