Eungam Korean BBQ weekend lunch: cold yeolmu noodles at Yukjjip
In short
Yukjjip (육쯥) is a Korean BBQ restaurant serving aged Jirisan handon pork, right by Bulgwangcheon stream near Eungam Station in Eunpyeong, Seoul. After a weekend lunch wait, the writer ordered the 54,000 won Yukjjip platter (whole pork belly, pork neck and gabeuri-sal, or pork skirt) plus cold yeolmu (young radish greens) noodles, and staff grilled everything to the last piece. The thick yet juicy signature pork neck and the 1,000 won soju and 2,000 won beer deal are the biggest draws of the Yukjjip flagship.

What is Yukjjip, the Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station?
Yukjjip (육쯥) is a Korean BBQ place near Eungam Station where you can enjoy Jirisan handon (Korean domestic pork), and the staff grilling service is flawless! It's only a 3-minute walk from Eungam Station, so it's super easy to visit~~
Mon–Sat 12:00–24:00 / Sun 12:00–23:00
The name Yukjjip is adorable on its own, and since there's no break time, you can show up around 3 or 4 pm and still be fine, which I loved haha. Plus it's right by Bulgwangcheon stream, so when they open up the big windows it feels like an outdoor drinking spot haha.

How long is the weekend lunch wait at Yukjjip?
When I visited this Eungam Station pork belly restaurant at weekend lunchtime, there was a wait. Yukjjip puts chairs and water out front for waiting guests, so I chatted away and the wait went by fine lol.

Yukjjip's ₩1,000 soju and ₩2,000 beer deal
Soju ₩1,000 / Beer ₩2,000
Great news for drinkers: the Yukjjip flagship has extended its ₩1,000 soju and ₩2,000 beer event through October!!!! What a bargain~~~~~~ You can't not go!!!!! At these prices you simply have to order drinks!!!!
Yukjjip interior and seating
Yukjjip has a 2nd floor too, but on the day I visited only the 1st floor was open! With the big windows flung wide open, the place felt really spacious, and I loved it!
Yukjjip menu: the pork platter and cold yeolmu noodles
Yukjjip serves aged Jirisan pork and the meat is so good that I ordered the Yukjjip platter and refreshing cold yeolmu (young summer radish) noodles right from the start!

What side dishes does Yukjjip serve?
Yukjjip's banchan (side dishes) are seasoned bean sprouts, white kimchi, green onion kimchi, myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves) and ssam vegetables, and they're really good.... The bean sprouts and white kimchi were especially insane.

I'd had two bottles of makgeolli (milky rice wine) the day before, so I didn't really feel like drinking at lunch. I wasn't hungover, but even looking at the pork belly didn't make me think of alcohol. Then I saw the soju and beer prices and suddenly I wanted a drink. And once you're eating, somaek (soju-beer mix) goes in too~~ I knew it.
What's in the ₩54,000 Yukjjip platter, and staff grilling
Yukjjip platter ₩54,000 / whole pork belly + pork neck + gabeuri-sal
One tray of the Yukjjip platter, ordered at this Eungam-dong pork belly favorite! haha The platter comes with whole pork belly, Yukjjip's signature pork neck and gabeuri-sal (the cut from the top of the pork ribs), and everything was delicious.... On top of that, the grilling service was perfect, so being able to eat in total comfort was a huge plus haha.

Wow, the pork neck is crazy thick hahaha My mouth was watering from the very start~ haha

The friend who came with me was so happy she didn't have to grill the meat herself lol. When did I ever make you grill?! T_T lolololol
Is Yukjjip's thick pork neck dry?
Because the pork neck is so thick, you might worry it'll be dry, but you can put that worry away hahaha. The staff grilled it so well that the outside was golden brown and the inside stayed juicy, a textbook crispy-outside, moist-inside piece! haha

The pork neck wasn't tough at all and the juices were still there, so personally the pork neck was my favorite!

How do Yukjjip's cold yeolmu noodles taste?
Cold yeolmu noodles!! Nobody dislikes them, right? hahaha Yukjjip's version has a cool broth and tasty yeolmu kimchi, so it was perfect alongside the rich meat!

Best way to eat Yukjjip's signature pork neck
At first the staff recommended dipping the pork neck in salt, so I did, and it was seriously delicious..... haha There's a reason they call it the signature pork neck!

Wrapped in a ssam (lettuce wrap), it's even better~ The pork neck went great with the myeongi namul and green onion kimchi too haha. It's the kind of taste that calls for alcohol, so I had no choice but to order more.

What is Yukjjip's gabeuri-sal (pork skirt) like?
Yukjjip's gabeuri-sal has a chewy, bouncy texture, a different charm from the pork neck! At this Eungam-dong favorite, one bite brings a big rush of savory flavor, but it isn't too heavy or greasy, so my chopsticks kept going back hahaha

How to eat Yukjjip's whole pork belly
Pork belly never fails, haha. Yukjjip's whole pork belly was thick and savory, and it really hit me that yes, I came to Eungam Station for pork belly lolololol

It's pork belly, so any way you eat it is delicious, but personally the best was with white kimchi and green onion kimchi! Honestly, just dipping it in salt is great too lolol

Verdict: Yukjjip flagship, Korean BBQ near Eungam Station
With aged Jirisan pork, the pork belly, pork neck and gabeuri-sal were all delicious, and above all the staff's grilling service is perfect, so the Yukjjip flagship is a top-tier Korean BBQ spot near Eungam Station!!!! The ₩1,000 soju and ₩2,000 beer event runs through October, so I recommend going soon~ haha Plus, since it's right by Bulgwangcheon stream, it's perfect for outdoor-style pork belly on a nice day ♥
