Why I chose Sushi Doku The Songdo
It had been ages since I last had Japanese food, so I went looking for a good sushi place in Songdo and found Sushi Doku The Songdo (스시도쿠 더송도). I was so busy eating that I didn't notice my photos came out washed out.. so the photo quality is pretty bad, but here's my honest review anyway.

Sushi Doku The Songdo location, hours and parking
Sushi Doku The Songdo is on the 2nd floor of Onesta Mall at 157 Songdogukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 21:00. The break time is 14:30-17:00, and last order is at 20:15.

- Extras: birthday perks / takeout discount / groups welcome / waiting area

It's a 4-minute walk from Tekeunopakeu Station (Incheon Line 1), so it's easy to find if you come by subway.
Finding Sushi Doku on Onesta Mall's 2nd floor and joining the Catch Table waitlist

Take the Onesta Mall elevator to the 2nd floor and you'll find Sushi Doku The Songdo. The exterior is mostly dark with the restaurant name in white, so it stands out.

There's a wait on weekends and at peak times, so a reservation is a must! You can join the line at the Catch Table waiting kiosk in front of the restaurant. Enter your phone number and party size, and you'll get a KakaoTalk message as your turn approaches.
When your waiting number reaches 3, you'll get an entry confirmation message, and if you don't tap "Confirm" your spot is cancelled. If you're not there when you're called, your turn is skipped automatically, so wait in front of the restaurant once your number gets close.
Inside Sushi Doku The Songdo: seating options

I visited on a weekday evening, so I couldn't capture the interior from many angles. As you can see on Naver Place, the seating comes in a variety of types:
- Rooms: 2 to 12 people
- Group seating: 2 to 12 people
- Floor seating
- Solo seats
- Couple seats
So whether you're a big group or dining solo, party size isn't an issue ~

The soy sauce brush and fork come individually wrapped, which gave the table a clean, tidy feel that I liked.

There are also high chairs, so it looked easy to visit as a family.
Ordering by tablet and paying at the entrance

You order on the tablet at each table, but payment is handled separately at the entrance.
Also, if you give your car number when you pay, they cover 2 hours of parking! And until July 31, leaving a Naver receipt review gets you 1 extra premium sushi piece per person, they said. If you're visiting, give it a try ~
Sushi Doku The Songdo menu overview

The menu falls into 7 main categories:
- Sushi sets
- Themed sushi sets
- Udon
- Kids' menu
- Sashimi
- Side dishes
- Nigiri (2 pieces)
The sushi sets come with a variety of nigiri plus chawanmushi, salad, tempura, udon and more. The themed sets use only salmon or flatfish nigiri, with the rest the same as the sushi sets. I attached photos of the other menu items, so take a look!
What's in the 10-piece Premium Sushi Set?

We ordered 2 Premium Sushi Sets, and the staff will help explain the menu if you ask. The Premium Sushi Set has 10 pieces of nigiri in total, specifically:
- Flatfish (gwangeo)
- Red sea bream (chamdom)
- Salmon
- Squid (ikka)
- Sweet shrimp (dansaeu)
- Lean tuna (akami)
- Red shrimp (hongsaeu)
- Red crab meat (honggesal)
- Eel (jangeo)
- Monkfish liver (ankimo)
It's such a shame the photo came out with weird colors ..

The set also comes with salad, shrimp tempura, chicken karaage, udon and chawanmushi. Each dish is served in a bowl that suits it, which made everything feel extra neat and refined! As they say, food that looks good tastes good, and I liked it from the plating onward ~
Chawanmushi with ginkgo nuts and shrimp

The chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) at Sushi Doku The Songdo had ginkgo nuts and shrimp laid on the bottom of the bowl as garnish. It was soft and easy to enjoy before or during the meal!
Is Sushi Doku The Songdo worth it? Final verdict

The seating at Sushi Doku The Songdo is spaced out generously, so it feels private even when it's busy. The tableware and food presentation were tidy too, which made me like it even more! If you're looking for a good Songdo restaurant near Tekeunopakeu Station, I recommend Sushi Doku The Songdo.
