The Mignon Seoul (더미뇽 서울) is a brunch restaurant on Gangnam-daero 102-gil, and its biggest strengths are the spacious interior and the pretty atmosphere. You can also reserve through Catch Table. I was looking for a place in Seoul with a nice mood and plenty of room, and that's how I ended up at The Mignon Seoul 🫧 I'd heard a lot about how pretty it is before going, so my expectations were high, and once I was there I liked that it was even bigger than I'd imagined.

Are the tables spaced out at The Mignon Seoul near Gangnam Station?

The space itself is large, so you don't get that cramped feeling of tables squeezed together. When you hunt for pretty restaurants and cafés these days, there are quite a few where the interior is gorgeous but the tables are packed tight or the place is tiny, right? Some places look lovely in photos, but in person they're so crowded that it's chaotic.

The Mignon Seoul, though, is roomy to begin with, and that relaxed feeling was what I liked. I sat on the 2nd floor that day, and it didn't feel stuffy at all. I could sit comfortably, so it was great for chatting over the meal.

Personally, I like places like this even more because they're good for photos. Wherever you sit, the space is nicely decorated, so it was easy to capture the atmosphere as well as the food.

Is the 2nd floor of The Mignon Seoul good for meetups and blind dates?

The 2nd floor has a different feel from the 1st floor, which I liked, and there seemed to be plenty of room for friend meetups or bigger groups. It was comfortable for chatting over a meal with a friend, and as soon as I got there I thought, this would work as a meetup spot too. When you set up plans with friends, a place that's too cramped makes it awkward to talk and hard to sit for long, but The Mignon Seoul is big, so that worry felt lighter!

And since the atmosphere is so pretty, I think it would suit a blind date or a date too 🥰 A blind date is a first meeting, so you tend to prefer somewhere with a good mood where it's easy to talk, rather than somewhere too loud or hectic, and this place looked fine on that front. It's clean and pretty without feeling overdone, so I don't think it would feel awkward for a first meeting. It seemed good for going with a friend, for a date with a partner, and for gatherings of several people.

What did I order at The Mignon Seoul?

That day I ordered the brunch set for two, and even while waiting for the food it was fun to look around the restaurant. These days the taste of the food matters, but so does whether the place lets you relax with the person you're with, right? In that sense, a big space plus a pretty atmosphere felt like The Mignon Seoul's clear strengths.

And when a place is pretty, you end up taking a lot of photos without meaning to. That day I took not just food photos but all sorts of shots of the interior too 🤭 If you like taking photos, I think you'll enjoy looking around the space.

I think The Mignon Seoul suits people looking for a place with a nice mood, or a spot to meet friends you haven't seen in a while. It seems especially good for occasions like blind dates, dates and friend meetups, where atmosphere matters and you need to talk. Personally, I prefer wide, relaxed places over narrow, busy ones, so I was very satisfied. It's pretty and the seating is generous, so staying a long time didn't feel uncomfortable!
