But at Yahwa, the space itself is designed to bring people a bit closer together naturally, so starting a conversation with a stranger wasn't awkward at all. You might come to drink solo and end up chatting with the person next to you, or come as a pair and end up playing games with others until your group naturally grows — that's the fun of this place.

The walls and shelves were lined with all kinds of bottles, and seeing them glint under the soft lighting really gave off that classic bar vibe. The space isn't overly decorated — it's comfortable and natural, which somehow makes you want to stay longer.

On one side of the Yahwa table sat a small basket with notebooks in it. Reading the traces and messages people had left behind was oddly fun.

The cocktail I ordered at Yahwa came in a glass with a big chunk of ice and a tiny flower garnish on top, so of course I had to photograph it before doing anything else. Maybe because the room is dark, the color of the cocktail looked even more mysterious. The deep-colored one especially had a subtle purple glow rising from the bottom — it looked gorgeous.

But it wasn't just pretty — it tasted great too. The aroma and flavor were well balanced, so it was easy to sip slowly while talking, and there was also the fun of the flavor shifting little by little as the ice melted. Sitting in a great-looking space with a pretty cocktail in front of me, chatting with people, felt like really soaking up an Itaewon night.
