My sister genuinely loves bread and goes all over the place chasing good bakeries. This time we found somewhere with both a great vibe and great bread, so off we went! It's called Degree, a place in Gojan-dong, Ansan that's known among bread lovers as a holy site.🤍

The interior is clean white, but since there's no signboard you might miss it — just look for the IBK bank right next door and you'll find it 👍🏻

Inside Degree Gojan Branch: atmosphere and seating

Walking into Degree Gojan Branch, the space was much bigger and more comfortable than I expected. Among Ansan Gojan-dong cafés, it's rare to find one with this much space between tables and such a relaxed atmosphere.

The seating is varied too, so it's easy to come alone with a laptop or a book, and just as comfortable to come with a group of friends for a relaxed chat. The interior overall felt clean and stylish, the kind of place that puts you in a good mood the whole time you're there.

Before ordering I browsed the showcase, and the sheer variety made my eyes spin. The bread looked seriously stunning... how am I supposed to pick just a few?!!😭 Degree in Ansan has so many kinds of bread that I agonized for a long while over what to get — so what did I end up choosing~?

How the watermelon juice and Oatly caffe latte tasted

I picked the watermelon juice, a popular summer item, and instead of an artificial taste from syrup or powder, they blend the whole real fruit right there, so the flavor was really clean. You could taste the fruit's own aroma and sweetness fully, and it washed the heat right away. 🍉 Watermelon juice really is the best in summer!!👍🏻

Since I love coffee, I ordered the oat latte — it was nutty with a really clean finish. But the shot felt a bit weak, which was a bit of a letdown ㅠㅠ😭

Chocolate baguette and sweet potato cream salt bread

For bread I picked the chocolate baguette and the sweet potato cream salt bread. The chocolate baguette was crispy outside and moist inside, exactly my taste, and the generous chocolate chips melted pleasantly in my mouth, giving me a nice sugar boost!

When I split the sweet potato cream salt bread in half, the cream packed inside was a treat for the eyes. Soft sweet potato cream filled the bread completely, and the salt bread's signature saltiness paired with the cream's sweetness for a perfect sweet-and-salty balance — genuinely delicious. Living up to Ansan's reputation for dessert spots, everything was high quality, to the point I wanted to come back and try every other bread on offer.
