Sangsu date-night bar for spicy chicken neck and hwachae: Kkoko Land

Today I'm introducing Kkoko Land (꼬꼬랜드), a brand-new outdoor bar near Hongik Univ. Station, on the Sangsu Station side!! The food was great and there was even a welcome drink. Such a fun bar!

What are Kkoko Land's entrance and outdoor terrace like?

You'll see Kkoko Land's sign on the first floor, and the path up through the garden and stairs makes it a really atmospheric Hongdae outdoor bar. A giraffe greets you at the door!!

Next, the inside of Kkoko Land!! The terrace is really spacious, with pocha-style seats too, and there are more seats inside the building as well!! The outdoor-bar mood was so good that I want to come back lots more before it gets cold!

Blankets and a big screen at Kkoko Land, great for watching sports

There were blankets set out on one side of the terrace!! A lifesaver for anyone who feels the cold!! And the terrace has one enormous screen and one medium-sized screen, two in total, so it seemed perfect for coming to watch a sports match!!!

When I visited, idol songs were playing, and instead of mopey ballads the mood was upbeat, which I think made the drinks taste even better haha

Kkoko Land menu and how to order by QR code

You order by QR code at Kkoko Land, so I captured the menus on the order screen!! True to the name, chicken and chicken neck dishes are the main menu, and there are also things like odeng-tang (fish cake soup) and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes)!!!

What we ordered was the seasoned chicken neck hwachae set!! The drink list was really varied too, and I was so happy they had Kirin draft beer!!!! We ordered two drinks: Kirin draft beer and a chilly slush draft beer!

How were the welcome drink, starter snack and slush draft beer?

The first thing that caught my eye at Kkoko Land was that they give you a welcome drink!! It's an orange juice-based cocktail, and it tasted just like my favorite kind of cocktail, so so good!!! The free snack was a drumstick-shaped snack!

I also loved that each person gets their own tray-shaped plate with sauces on it!!! Everyone gets their own fork and tongs too, so it seemed easy to eat any kind of chicken comfortably!!

Next photo is the Kirin draft beer and the slush beer! The Kirin draft needs no explanation, it was delicious!! And Kkoko Land's quirky slush beer was so so good too!! The cold beer is packed with slush, so it stayed icy cold until the very last sip!!! Highly recommend this one!!!!

How big is the hwachae at Kkoko Land?

The hwachae in the seasoned chicken neck hwachae set is a cider-based punch topped with berries, mango, peach, coconut jelly and more, and the portion was seriously huge hahaha The hwachae I'd been dying to try,, the moment we saw it, my boyfriend and I were both totally shocked!!

The fruit on top made it so delicious, and it was great for cleansing your palate after spicy food and for having a fizzy drink while drinking alcohol haha I'm a fruit-loving person so I ordered it, and we both ate it really well!

How does Kkoko Land's spicy seasoned chicken neck taste?

Kkoko Land's signature seasoned chicken neck was super spicy with loads of smoky char flavor, so it was really delicious!!! The portion was huge, and there were tortillas to wrap it in too!!

We absolutely love chicken neck, and this one was chewy yet juicy, so it tasted even better (๑o̴̶̷̥᷅﹏o̴̶̷̥᷅๑)

There was salad and egg salad like this too, so it was so so good for cleansing the palate after the spicy stuff!!!

The chicken neck seasoning was properly spicy, so the drinks just kept going down. Absolutely the best taste!!!!!!!

Who is Kkoko Land in Sangsu best for?

I recommend Kkoko Land to anyone looking for an outdoor bar with a great mood near Hongdae and Sangsu!!!! The chicken neck anju was really really delicious, and I loved that there's a big screen too!!!! If you like spicy food, I really recommend the seasoned chicken neck!!! Next time I go, I'll try the chicken too!
