Bucheon hair salon bob vintage perm for thin curly hair: Levia Hair
In short
Levia Hair Bucheon Branch is a hair salon with floor-to-ceiling windows on the 3rd floor of a building across from Bucheon City Hall in Bucheon, Gyeonggi. Tired of magic straightening and frizz, the writer was weighing a hippie perm, but after a consultation at Levia Hair chose a bob with a vintage perm, her first bob in years. The curls follow the natural texture of her thin, curly hair, and the style was still easy to manage a week later. If damaged hair has made you hesitate over a perm, a consultation at Levia Hair Bucheon Branch is worth booking.

Levia Hair near Bucheon City Hall Station: not sure which perm, so a consultation first
Before it gets any hotter, I got my hair done last week at Levia Hair, a hair salon near Bucheon City Hall Station. I was sick of the endless straightening and frizz and wanted a perm, but I couldn't choose one... a taste even I didn't know I had, haha.
I'd booked with the deputy director (Buwon-jang) at Levia Hair, who is great with hair. I had a hippie perm vaguely in mind, but I figured, let's go first and decide there, right?

All I'd found out about Levia Hair was that it had only recently opened. I've been really into perm styling this summer, and there are so many popular styles right now. But every time I go to a salon it's "you can't because of this, you can't perm because of that..." Yep, that's me. At some point I got sick of everything looking the same. An in-between length and in-between frizz. I came to settle this once and for all.

The recommended bob vintage perm: how is it to style a week later?
The style Levia Hair recommended was a bob vintage perm. About a week later, it's really easy to style, and if I just dry the roots well for volume, it takes very little time.
Sorry, but up to this point I only half believed the "easy to manage" line. Even in hot summer weather, a low bun or half-up looks vintage too, and she said with a smile, "just avoid the triangle gimbap look" (a tall, pointy top knot). I honestly love it, ma'am.

Can damaged, thin curly hair get a perm?
My hair is damaged, so perms aren't easy, but the Levia Hair designer set the curls along my hair's own waviness, and they came out natural. A style I didn't even know I wanted, and a bob for the first time in years, so I just trusted the designer and went for it.

They said my hair is on the thin side. My curls don't straighten out easily, so I've always lived with frizz, but the designer instead rolled the curls to follow my natural waves, and it turned out natural. This is how it looked before.
How long the vintage perm takes, and the window-wall space
The vintage perm at Levia Hair took roughly two and a half hours, and the consultation ran long as we checked my hair condition and discussed what styles were possible.
Oh wait, before that! I've seen plenty of pretty café-like spaces, but Levia Hair has a window-wall view, and I think you'd enjoy just sitting there.

I had other plans in the afternoon, so I came right when they opened. The space was clean and nice, right? They showed me to my seat, and since it's been ages since a bob perm, we started with the cut. I also rambled on about how the cut I overdid during my last dye job had turned awkward over time.

Vintage perm vs. hippie perm: what's the difference?
The vintage perm is similar to the hippie perm I'd planned on, yet a little different; everyone calls it retro vibes. Honestly, I think it's even more charming once you get the hang of natural styling.
Since it's a bob perm, she said to just dry the roots well for volume and air-dry the rest. She shared lots of tips along the way, so it was also a chance to check my own bad habits.
Moisture care, nutrition, then curls at the window seat
Peek-a-boo, I moved to a window seat, and even the kombucha was so pretty that I forgot I was getting my hair done again. Curious, I peeked. Since my hair was damaged, she did moisture care and nutrition first, then rolled the curls. Let it cool 5 or 10 minutes, repeat. Zoning out now and then... and before you know it.

The back of my head, which I'd been curious about. It's been a while since my last perm, and these days I get confused by all the hippie perms, jelly perms, and even slick cuts that look like straightening. I guess I looked at a lot of perm styles before heading to a hair salon near Bucheon City Hall Station. Short videos helped, but most were long styles, so I figured I'd go, talk, and decide there.

Time actually seemed to pass faster than when I'm sitting staring in the mirror. Nice weather, nice music, and, well... that was that.
Neutralizing at the massage-chair shampoo station
For the final neutralizing step, you move to the shampoo station with a massage chair. They checked carefully along the way, so there was no discomfort, and I pretty much decided to become a regular, haha. They said the massage at the shampoo station is about 10 minutes, but I think I fell asleep without realizing... hah.

How to dry a bob vintage perm: tips from Levia Hair
Levia Hair's way to dry a bob vintage perm: strong air, low temperature, roots first. On top of that, they said to pay more attention to towel-drying with a vintage perm.
The bob doesn't look awkward at all! This is where I focused, watching closely how she dries hair. You scrunch it up like crumpling paper to set the curls. But you know it takes some practice. Even just roughly drying the roots, the curls on a bob vintage perm turn out fine.

Moist curls are the point, so I'm paying extra attention to the ends with an essence. I thought I couldn't get a perm at all, but I tried it, and with a style change after so long, I love it right now. After I left, they even sent separate care tips, saying the first week matters for the curls. Levia Hair is surprisingly attentive. If hair is easy to manage long after the visit, not only on the day, you end up going back.

A bob for the first time in years: does it look awkward?
I thought the bob, shorter for the first time in years, would feel awkward, but it's lighter, and apart from the towel-drying, drying time has dropped a lot. This year I plan to focus more on clinic treatments, nutrition and moisture, and keeping things tidy.

Lighter, really. At least it's an easy-care style.
Oh, she told me this too. She said my face shape looks better with volume at the part, and since the curls are set so I can sweep it in any direction, I can style it however I like. A style I didn't know I wanted, and I found what suits me at a Bucheon hair salon.

I'll come back when I'm torn about my next dye color, haha. It was a weekday opening slot, so I had a relaxed visit.
