Mexican restaurant in Jeongja: Desperados & shrimp quesadilla, Elato

Elato Bundang is a Mexican restaurant in Jeongja, Seongnam, and a great lunch spot near Sunae Station. From the atmosphere to the quesadilla, it was totally my taste♡

If you're looking for a restaurant with great atmosphere in Jeongja-dong, Bundang, keep Elato Bundang on your radar♡ Today I'm writing about a Mexican spot in Seongnam where I really soaked up the Mexican vibe! I generally like Mexican food, and at Elato Bundang the food was tasty, but above all I just loved the atmosphere so, so much.

Tasty Mexican food plus a cold Mexican beer made me feel like I'd gone on a little trip abroad, haha!

What are the exterior, parking and reservations like at Elato Bundang?

Elato Bundang has parking in front of the restaurant, and you can book through Naver. The exterior is a dark brick building with a brown entrance and exotic parasols that look like palm leaves, so it catches your eye from far away as a Mexican restaurant with real atmosphere.

Best of all, you can park right in front!

And Naver reservations are available too, so it's easy to book ahead before you visit.

Inside Elato Bundang: the window seats

The inside of Elato Bundang is cozy and exotic, with wood-toned tables and chairs and rattan-style lighting. My first thought walking in was, wow, this place has such a great vibe!! Warm wooden tables and chairs, soft lighting, and rattan-style lamps hanging from the ceiling come together to make it both very cozy and exotic. My favorite spot was the window seats.

What does Desperados, the Mexican beer, taste like?

The beer I chose at Elato Bundang was Desperados, which is flavored with tequila. I came for Mexican food, so the beer had to feel exotic too, right? The cold bottled beer was poured into its own glass and the foam bubbled up, and just seeing it put me in a good mood.

Since Desperados is flavored with tequila, it has a different charm from an ordinary lager. It has a fragrant, lightly sweet note, and it went quite well with Mexican-style food.

Above the windows at Elato Bundang, lush green plants hang down, and it feels like a little restaurant at a tropical resort! The big windows give you a nice open view outside, so eating there never felt stuffy. It's a space that photographs beautifully, so I'd recommend it as a date spot too.

How to order and what's on the menu at Elato Bundang

At Elato Bundang you order conveniently on the tablet at your table. The menu had more choices than I expected, and I agonized over what to eat for a good while. Quesadillas, all kinds of Mexican-style dishes, sides, beer and drinks! You can't try everything in one visit, so it naturally makes you think about the next one, haha.

Here are the two dishes I ordered today.

Avocado shrimp quesadilla that melts in your mouth

The avocado shrimp quesadilla at Elato Bundang is generously stuffed with shrimp, avocado, vegetables and cheese between golden-grilled tortillas. It was the dish I was looking forward to most today, and it came out on a big plate, grilled and mouthwatering, and passed on looks alone.

Beef chili wedge fries loaded with chili cheese

The beef chili wedge fries at Elato Bundang are big potato wedges topped with cheese, jalapeños, purple pickles and cilantro, with the beef chili served separately in its own bowl. Doesn't the color alone look so appetizing?

The wedges are thick, so that fluffy potato texture comes through, and the outsides were golden and savory. Eating them with the cheese makes them even richer. And especially the beef chili in its own bowl! You can ask for it separately, which I liked a lot.

If you're looking for a Mexican restaurant with great atmosphere in Jeongja-dong

I was satisfied with the food at Elato Bundang, but above all the atmosphere of the space itself was wonderful. From the exotic exterior to the interior with warm lighting and green plants! It was a restaurant where you can eat at ease and refresh your mood. The menu is varied, so next time I want to try other Mexican dishes.

I'm planning to come back and work through the other dishes one by one. A little trip to Mexico in Bundang, and I was very happy with it! 🌮💛
