Staff-grilled beef ribs near Jeju Airport with my son: Jeju Udae
In short
Jeju Udae Nohyeong main branch (제주 우대 노형본점) is a beef rib BBQ restaurant in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju, near Jeju Airport, where staff grill the meat for you from start to finish. On a Jeju trip with their son, the writer booked a weekday lunch and ordered straw-fire raw beef ribs for two (64,000 won) and kkakdugi (cubed radish kimchi) fried rice, loving the thick yet tender, juicy ribs and the tortilla wraps. For travelers with kids who would rather not grill themselves, Jeju Udae is an easy, comfortable choice for Korean BBQ.

Why is Jeju Udae Nohyeong good with kids?
Jeju Udae's Nohyeong main branch is open from noon to 11 p.m. with no break time and no days off, and the staff grill the meat for you from start to finish. That makes it a perfect BBQ place near Jeju Airport for travelers who can't grill while watching a child.

I came to Jeju with my son, just the two of us ✌️ I wanted meat, but grilling it while keeping an eye on a kid sounded exhausting, so I searched hard for a place that grills for you and found Jeju Udae Nohyeong main branch! It's open from lunch until night with no break time and no days off, so you can drop in any time 😉 And best of all, they grill everything from start to finish!! ❤️
Where do you park at Jeju Udae?
There are only 4 spaces in front of the restaurant, so if they're full, use Nohyeong paid parking, a 1-minute walk away, and they give you a parking ticket. It was a weekday lunch and the lot in front was still full, so I parked at Nohyeong paid parking 💛 It's a really big open lot and they hand you a parking ticket, which was super easy for a nervous driver like me.
Inside Jeju Udae and the seating
The inside of Jeju Udae is a classy black-and-white scheme, with tables for 4 and 6, so it works for couples, family gatherings and even group meals. The tables are spaced widely apart, so it feels comfortable.

The staff stand at each table and grill for you‼️
There's a meat aging fridge on one side of the restaurant! The prime ribs are aging in there, and it seems they even trim them in-house! The meat looks amazing ❤️
They also sell wine that goes well with the prime ribs. Great for a classy drink with good company 👍
We booked ahead, so the table was already set when we arrived. Neat and spotless ✨✨✨
What's on the menu at Jeju Udae?
The meat menu at Jeju Udae includes tomahawk, raw prime beef ribs, marinated prime beef ribs and black pork belly, and the sides are kkakdugi fried rice (cubed radish kimchi fried rice), Hanu beef bone soybean paste stew and rice cold noodles. There are set menus that include black pork belly, and you can also order the prime ribs on their own ❤️

We ordered the straw-fire raw prime beef ribs for two.
Side dishes served with the ribs
When you order the straw-fire raw prime beef ribs, the table is set with 5 sauces, pa-kimchi (green onion kimchi), coleslaw, seasoned radish salad, beef radish soup and more.

⭐️The tortillas are my favorite thing here⭐️ There's also a guide on the best way to eat the meat, so make sure to read it.
Straw-fire raw prime beef ribs for two: portion and price
The straw-fire raw prime beef ribs for two at Jeju Udae cost ₩64,000 and come as two big rib bones, almost a steak-sized portion. Even two good eaters would probably be full once you add the fried rice.
Once you order, the fire show starts in the open kitchen 🔥🔥 First they quickly sear the surface with a torch, then smoke it and give it a first grilling over straw fire for a subtle smoky flavor 💛 That's how the pre-grilled prime ribs for two arrived at our table.
✋Prime beef ribs (udae galbi) are the flower-rib cut of beef: big rib bones with thick meat and fat attached, which makes for a really juicy cut.
If you think beef for two means a small portion, think again.. seriously, two huge rib bones 😮😮 It's almost a steak... don't be shocked.. this is for two people‼️ ₩64,000 for two feels like great value 💛 The meat attached to the rib bones gets put on top of your fried rice if you order it, or they grill it separately if not.
Staff grill everything for you
A Jeju Udae staff member cuts the ribs with scissors, grills them in bite-size pieces, and moves them to the side grill at the perfect doneness. Now they're cutting the meat‼️‼️ The bright red marbling looks super fresh..!! They snip away and I covet those scissors haha. Raw meat usually doesn't cut that easily, but the scissor cutting was an art..✂️✂️
The grilling service is really great 💛💛💛 They put the meat on the side grill? right at the perfect doneness, and the juicy bite-size ribs looked so good. I held back from grabbing one before it was all done T_T

And from time to time they carefully cut off the sinew-like bits on the meat too.... If you're visiting Jeju, come here!!! You don't have to struggle with grilling, and since it's done professionally you get the best bite!! Highly recommended for guests with little kids 💛
They grilled mushrooms and shishito-style peppers too. The meat is stacked in 3 layers... eek!! Eek! It's all cooked!! Time to taste!!
How did the ribs at Jeju Udae taste?
The straw-fire raw prime beef ribs at Jeju Udae were thick but so tender and full of juice. The moment I ate the first piece... wow.. seriously so delicious.......💛💛💛

You put one piece at a time in your own bowl, and the bowls are pretty and classy.. Following the recommended way to eat, I topped each piece with a different sauce and wow.. it felt like eating omakase...😮 The perilla leaf chimichurri was full of fragrance, and the cheongyang chili pesto adds a sharp spicy kick. I dipped it deep in the garlic sauce too. So glad we came here 💛
The meat is honestly so fluffy?! Moderately thick, with juice filling your whole mouth and a soft texture, so so so good!!
Tortilla wraps with thin radish salad
The flavor highlight at Jeju Udae is dipping the rib in mayo sauce, topping it with coleslaw and seasoned radish salad, and wrapping it in a tortilla. Such a perfect combo T_T The tortillas were so good that we ordered more!!
The radish salad here is really thin, you know?! About the thickness you get from a cabbage slicer! So it isn't crunchy and stiff, it's well soaked in the seasoning. It goes really well with the spicy-sour radish salad ❤️

I ate it with the various side dishes to try different flavors. I'm so full..... but we still have to order the signature kkakdugi fried rice.
Finish with kkakdugi fried rice
Jeju Udae's signature kkakdugi fried rice is made with doubanjiang (spicy bean paste), so it's salty and spicy, and it includes the meat that was attached to the rib bones. The portion is enough that two people need to share it.

It's an amount for two people to share..😮😮 It's slightly spicy and stir-fried nice and fluffy. The kkakdugi pieces here and there and the rib meat from the bones are the highlights!! It's salty and spicy, so definitely try it as a finish. They gave us the fried rice as a review event!!
I got a parking ticket too. Highly recommended, if you come to Jeju, come to Udae! The meat is juicy and so tender, and since they grill it all for you it's so easy to eat. The classy interior is a bonus!
