Namyangsan Chinese restaurant: double-size set with my son at Rohwa
In short
Rohwa is a newly opened Chinese restaurant on a side street in the Seoksan housing district of Dong-myeon, Yangsan, Gyeongnam, near Namyangsan. The writer and their son ordered Rohwa's 2-person tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) set, about 33,000 won as remembered, upgraded to double-portion cream jjamppong (seafood noodle soup) and double-portion fried rice. It came with thick cream jjamppong, fluffy smoky fried rice, glutinous-rice tangsuyuk and free fried dumplings. Rohwa's double portions are so generous that anyone who isn't a big eater should order the regular size.

Where is Rohwa in Namyangsan, and where can you park?
Rohwa (로화) is a newly opened Chinese restaurant tucked into an alley of the Seoksan housing estate in Dong-myeon, near Namyangsan. I parked on the street behind the restaurant 😉

Rohwa's interior and dining with kids
Rohwa has tables for 4 and 6 and also high chairs, so it looks good for group gatherings, families and guests with little ones. Being brand new, it feels clean and tidy.

Wood tables and white interiors give it a comfy, stylish feel 💛 Once it gets darker and the wall lights come on, I bet it looks romantic. It's clean and pleasant, so I recommend it for guests with toddlers!
There's a self-service bar on one side ❤️ Tableware, pickled radish, onions and yogurt drinks are all free. Eek!! The staff told us to help ourselves, so my son had one before the meal and one after. I love little touches like this 👍👍 High chairs are ready too 👶
Rohwa's menu
Rohwa has meals like jjajangmyeon (noodles in black bean sauce) and jjamppong, dishes like tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and kkanpunggi (spicy fried chicken), plus 1-person and 2-person tangsuyuk sets. What sets it apart from other places is the cream jjamppong!

- Meals: jjajangmyeon, ganjjajang, tray jjajang, spicy jjajang, jjamppong, beef jjamppong, white jjamppong, cream jjamppong, jjamppong rice, fried rice, Chinese bibimbap, fried dumplings, jjamppong broth
- Dishes: tangsuyuk, kkanpunggi, yuringi, seafood jjamppong hot pot, kkanpung shrimp, chili shrimp, gochujapchae (pork with green peppers), yangjangpi (cold seafood and meat salad), palbochae, seafood nurungji soup
- Sets: 1-person tangsuyuk set, 2-person tangsuyuk set
You can mix and match the set, so for the 2-person set we ordered cream jjamppong (double portion), fried rice (double portion) and tangsuyuk ❤️
How big is Rohwa's double-portion 2-person tangsuyuk set?
The 2-person tangsuyuk set with both cream jjamppong and fried rice as double portions was ₩33,000, I think? Such good value 💯💯 But think before you order the double portions. The amount is seriously enormous‼️

The hearty 2-person tangsuyuk set arrives‼️ Everything is cooked to order so it took a little while, but we waited with yogurt drinks 🧃🧃 The owner even gave us fried dumplings as a freebie. Thank you sooo much ❤️ And both the cream jjamppong and fried rice are double portions 🙊
Double-portion fried rice: fluffy, smoky and light on oil
Rohwa's double-portion fried rice looks like nearly two bowls of rice. The amount of rice is seriously enormous‼️‼️‼️

Look at the cross-section.... Can you feel the amount?.... 🙊🙊🙊 Nearly two bowls of rice.... ✌️ But it was so tasty that I finished it all even though I was full 😉 I'd heard Rohwa is famous for fried rice and now I see why. First, the rice is fluffy and stir-fried over high heat with a smoky wok flavor 🔥🔥 And it's not oily at all, so it's really light‼️ Chinese food is often oily enough to upset my stomach, but Rohwa's fried rice has just the right moisture and oil cooked off, so you can feel every single fluffy grain in your mouth 💛

There's plenty of jjajang sauce too, so it's good mixed in, and I liked it plain as well 💛 It isn't salty and is mild, so it was great for feeding my kid!
Double-portion cream jjamppong: thick cream meets spicy broth
Rohwa's cream jjamppong is a thick cream sauce loaded with seafood. This is insanely good 💯💯💯 The ratio of cream to jjamppong seasoning is amazing..... ⭐️

The smooth cream sauce has a spicy jjamppong kick, and it's nutty and soft without being harsh. I completely fell for it... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ It's moderately spicy and smooth, so I think even people who dislike fiery jjamppong would enjoy it‼️

The noodles are springy and soaked in the thick cream for a rich flavor ❤️ The satisfaction of a mouth full of thick cream 👍 But I ordered the double portion and the amount is sooo, sooo, sooo big 😮😮 Unless you're a serious big eater, get the regular size.... ^^

The ingredients are generous and hearty too‼️ Smoky stir-fried onions, plump shrimp and assorted seafood make it fun to pick through. The aftertaste is slightly spicy, so you never get tired of it and it just keeps going down 💛

There's plenty of cream, so putting it on top of the fried rice was delicious too 💛 If you want something more special than regular jjamppong, I highly recommend Rohwa's cream jjamppong‼️‼️
Glutinous-rice tangsuyuk and free fried dumplings
The tangsuyuk in Rohwa's 2-person set is glutinous-rice tangsuyuk with the sauce poured over (buwmeok style), and the portion seems bigger than at a typical Chinese joint. Everything at Rohwa is big‼️

I liked the raw onions and veggies on top 💛 I'm someone who prefers raw onions to limp ones in sauce...

The tangsuyuk pieces are big, crispy outside and chewy inside. Being glutinous-rice style, the inside is super chewy 💛 Look how the loin meat fills it up... 🙊🙊🙊 The meat quality is good, tender and full of juice....! You can see the grain in the meat.... 💛 Rohwa doesn't seem to skimp on ingredients... 😮😮

The free fried dumplings were crispy and tasty too. They gave one per person, so thank youuu ❤️
