In short
Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch (큰사위 오리집 부천옥길본점) is a duck restaurant in Okgil-dong, Bucheon, near Starfield Bucheon. For lunch, the writer had the Keunsawi Special Course: 150g duck dori-tang (spicy duck stew), perilla samgyetang (chicken soup), 100g cypress-steamed duck and three-color fried rice. The Naju duck dori-tang was spicy with no gamey smell, and the unlimited self-serve bar was generous. Where is Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch?
Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch (큰사위 오리집 부천옥길본점) is a duck restaurant famous as a go-to spot in Okgil-dong, Bucheon, Gyeonggi. It's close to Starfield Bucheon, so it's a handy stop after weekend shopping.

What are the parking and atmosphere like?
There's a big parking lot right in front of the restaurant, so you can drop in without worrying about parking. Maybe that's why there were so many groups here for family meals, gatherings and company dinners. The inside is tidy and the tables are spaced generously, so it was comfortable to eat.

What comes in the Keunsawi Special Course?
The Keunsawi Special Course is a set menu with 150g of duck dori-tang (spicy duck stew), perilla samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup), 100g of steamed duck, vegetable add-ons, rice cake add-ons and three-color fried rice. We ordered easily from the table on a tablet.
The main dishes at Keunsawi, my pick for a Starfield Bucheon meal, are duck dori-tang and cypress steamed duck with kalguksu-style noodles (칼제비). You can order just a main dish, or add extras as a set menu. This time I ordered the Keunsawi Special Course.

The signature duck dori-tang: how spicy and how tasty?
The signature duck dori-tang came out first. It looks fiery, but the seasoning isn't harsh~

King oyster mushrooms, white wood ear mushrooms, chives and rice cakes were piled generously on top of the duck and boiled together.

You can order add-ons separately, so if you run short, just ask for more. The dori-tang is a decent amount already, and then two more dishes that feel like mains come out after it.

The dori-tang has a spicy, deep broth. Duck fat is good for you, so I spooned it up without worry. They say the duck is brought in from Nanju, and it had no gamey smell and a nice texture. There was plenty of duck, and eating it with all those vegetables made it even richer.

How much perilla samgyetang do you get?
The Keunsawi Special Course for two comes with half a chicken of perilla samgyetang. The dori-tang is delicious as a main, but the set also includes the steamed duck and the perilla samgyetang.

The thick perilla sauce is tasty, and alternating it with the spicy dori-tang made a great combination.

How do you eat the steamed duck?
The duck also comes as steamed duck in a cypress steamer. We set the timer, ate other dishes while waiting, and the steamed duck was done in no time.

The fat is completely gone and the subtle scent of cypress wood soaks in, which makes the meat even better. I picked up a piece with bean sprouts and dipped it in chili sauce and peanut sauce, and it was a real treat.

To finish: three-color fried rice
After eating a fair amount of the dori-tang, we had the three-color fried rice. However full you are, fried rice goes down like a whole new meal, haha. Mill-pressed sesame oil made it even better.

What's at the Keunsawi self-serve bar?
At the self-serve bar of Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch, you can help yourself to unlimited white rice and gondre (thistle) shiitake rice. The bar is really generous, and the value for money came through.

The rice is made with Sindongjin rice and is good on its own; the gondre rice in particular was a proper meal with just soy sauce mixed in.

The kimchi is called "mother-in-law's geotjeori" (fresh kimchi), and the name alone guarantees the flavor. It was so good that I kept going back for more.

You can take plenty of ssam vegetables and sauces too, and the bar is clean, which made me want to come back even more often.

Is it okay to go with kids?
Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch has a mildly seasoned seaweed soup that children under 8 can eat for free. That made it a good place to come with kids.

Refreshing plum tea and omija tea wrapped up the meal nicely. Not just duck but gondre rice, samgyetang and other healthy dishes in generous portions: that's Keunsawi Ori Jip Bucheon Okgil Main Branch, a Okgil-dong, Bucheon favorite. With the hot summer coming, I'll be dropping by often for some stamina food.
