Jeju ocean-view café in Pyoseon with watermelon patbingsu: Café 7 Budu

In short

Café 7 Budu (표선카페 7부두) is a two-story ocean-view dessert café right in front of Pyoseon Beach in Seogwipo, Jeju. At a second-floor window seat, the writer had Café 7 Budu's handmade patbingsu (red bean shaved ice) served in a ttukbaegi clay pot for 17,000 won: milk ice and homemade red beans topped with plenty of fresh watermelon and Korean melon, with condensed milk on the side so you can adjust the sweetness. Café 7 Budu is a cool, relaxing break on a hot Jeju trip.

Looking for a dessert to cool down in the hot Jeju weather, I stopped by Café 7 Budu (표선카페 7부두)!

It's close to Pyoseon Beach, so it was a great place to drop in after looking at the sea 🍉🤍

Café 7 Budu has a large parking lot right in front of the building. 🚗

Easy parking made this Pyoseon café even better!

A first floor that feels like being on a ship

Café 7 Budu is a big two-story café at Pyoseon Beach, and true to its name ("Pier 7"), it feels like you've boarded a ship at a real pier!

The vibe is just so good, it makes you feel...,

It seems that if you book in advance on Naver, they take free photos of you at the staircase photo spot.

Café 7 Budu menu and today's order

The menu had a wide range: coffee, lattes, ades and teas. They said their signature item is the clay-pot handmade patbingsu (red bean shaved ice), so I ordered that, as you can see below!

Dessert and cake menu

They had plenty of desserts too, including walnut cake and cheesecake, so this is a great cake spot in Seogwipo as well.

It's a perfect place to rest after swimming at Pyoseon Beach, haha.

Second-floor window seats with a Pyoseon Beach ocean view

I heard the second floor has an ocean view of Pyoseon Beach, so I headed straight up after ordering!

Just like downstairs, it feels like a cabin inside a ship, haha. The atmosphere was really, really good!

The first thing I saw when I got up there was the wide-open sea! !! !!! ♥

From the window seats you can take in the whole Pyoseon sea, so it's a perfect spot to relax over coffee or dessert.

How does the clay-pot patbingsu taste?

🍧 The clay-pot handmade patbingsu comes served in a clay pot, just like the name says, and the look alone is something special ~~~ ♥ It's unlike ordinary shaved ice, so it's great for photos too ><

On top of the finely shaved milk ice sat a generous amount of homemade red bean. I could see soft rice cakes too!

The condensed milk came in a separate dish so I could adjust the sweetness myself, such a thoughtful touch. The owner was really kind!

Watermelon and Korean melon toppings

The red bean wasn't overly sweet, so I could enjoy this handmade patbingsu to the very end without it feeling heavy!

Best of all, it was piled with fresh fruit, including watermelon and Korean melon (chamoe), which made it even more satisfying. The watermelon was cool and sweet, and all I can say is it was just so yummy.. haha

The Korean melon added a crunchy texture and a mild sweetness that went really well with the shaved ice. With so many kinds of fruit, every bite tasted a little different haha

It's not too sweet, so I think my parents would like it too! I think it's a perfect dessert for cooling off on a hot Jeju trip.
