Sinnonhyeon café, last Seoul day: Lotus cream latte, Upper and Under

On the last day of this Seoul trip, I visited Upper and Under, a Sinnonhyeon Station café with seriously good vibes >_< ☕️🤍 I couldn't keep such a great place to myself, so here it is!

Upper and Under opening hours and parking

Upper and Under is a bakery café near Gangnam Station and Sinnonhyeon Station in Seoul, open daily from 11:00 to 22:00. It has no dedicated parking, so you'll need to use a nearby paid lot and walk over! 🚗 Public transport is recommended if you can.

Inside Upper and Under: a good café to sit and study solo?

Upper and Under is a large Gangnam Station café selling specialty coffee and high-quality drinks and desserts! 🥰 With a wide variety of seats from the 1st to the 3rd floor, it's well known as a large Sinnonhyeon Station café and a Gangnam Station study café. It's open until 10 pm, so it's perfect for coming alone to study haha.

Upper and Under menu and Naver review event

The menu has four signature cream lattes and even the ube desserts that are super trendy right now! Even on a weekday afternoon, customers kept coming in. It's a real Gangnam Station hotspot.

How many desserts does Upper and Under offer?

Upper and Under has bakery items like financiers, madeleines and egg tarts, plus a really wide range of cakes. The dessert display was the first thing I saw as soon as I walked in haha. I could hardly decide what to pick.. sob

A new trendy ube dessert lineup had also just launched and caught my eye. The purple colors are so appealing that the looks alone grabbed me, and I knew I had to try them next time (seriously, next time I'm eating the ube cake for sure… ㅠ_ㅠ)

How do the financier, egg tart and choco madeleine taste?

That day at Upper and Under I picked a delicious topped financier, an egg tart and a choco madeleine, and each had a distinct character, so I was really satisfied.. >_<

• Financier (small almond butter cake): the buttery, nutty flavor came through richly
• Egg tart: crispy pastry and a soft filling went together nicely
• Choco madeleine: a moist texture and deep chocolate flavor left an impression

The conclusion: every single dessert was delicious..!

Upper and Under Americano and Lotus cream latte

The Americano had no sourness at all and was super clean, so it paired even better with the desserts. The Lotus cream latte had sweet cream with Lotus's nutty flavor, so it felt almost like a dessert itself haha. It's not just a Gangnam Station bakery café, it's a great coffee spot too.

The cream on the Lotus cream latte was super thick and sweet, just right for refilling the sugar I'd burned through on this Seoul trip!

Upper and Under has such a wide variety of desserts and keeps rolling out new seasonal items, so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a dessert café near Gangnam Station! Next time I really want to try the various cakes and the new ube menu.
