Dogok-dong walnut pie shop with no refined sugar: Hodu Kkakki Brothers
In short
Hodu Kkakki Brothers (호두까끼형제) is a takeout-only walnut pie shop in Dogok-dong, Gangnam, Seoul, near Yangjae Station. The writer took home the Premium Assorted Pie, said to be the most popular item at Hodu Kkakki Brothers (listed as 34.9 in the original), and shared it with friends, who all raved that it was nutty and not too sweet. Todaaay I'm introducing a homemade walnut pie spot in Yangjae that doesn't use refined sugar!☺️ It's Hodu Kkakki Brothers (호두까끼형제), a café in Dogok-dong, Gangnam, that sells really tasty desserts that aren't too sweet.

What is the Hodu Kkakki Brothers shop in Yangjae like inside?
Hodu Kkakki Brothers in Yangjae is a takeout-only walnut pie shop. It's small but packed with charm and decorated so cutely, hehe. It already seemed like a well-known dessert spot around Gangnam and Yangjae!

Hodu Kkakki Brothers prices and most popular pies
The walnut pies at Hodu Kkakki Brothers range from single pies to sets, so many choices! I ordered the Premium Assorted Pie (34.9), said to be the most popular one.

What desserts does Hodu Kkakki Brothers sell?
As I mentioned above, Hodu Kkakki Brothers sells homemade pies made without refined sugar, along with a variety of pies and drinks. It's run directly by the head office, and apparently it has already been featured widely on SBS Live Today and on YouTube, a real dessert hotspot! They say it has lots of regulars too, haha.
There are so many kinds of pie that dessert maniacs like me just go wide-eyed...

Is Hodu Kkakki Brothers a good dessert gift set near Yangjae Station?
I had the Premium Assorted Pie packed up nicely and took it home! It's a premium dessert café that started in 2017 and has already been going for 10 years, so I was so excited to find out how the desserts taste >< haha
The packaging is just so cute too... I think it's perfect for anyone looking for a dessert gift set near Gangnam Station or Yangjae Station!

What is in the Premium Assorted Pie, made without refined sugar?
The Premium Assorted Pie at Hodu Kkakki Brothers is made with oligosaccharide syrup, honey and maple syrup instead of refined sugar, plus organic flour and natural milk butter, they say! Trying this pie freed me from the stereotype that healthy food tastes bitter... It was healthier and tastier than the pies you find on the market, and I could taste the true flavor of the pie, haha.

How long do Hodu Kkakki Brothers pies keep?
The pie set even comes with a detailed flavor description for each pie, so touched.. If I got a pie set like this as a gift, I'd be over the moon... There must be a reason it has been loved by so many people for 10 years, hahaha.
Here are the storage periods for Hodu Kkakki Brothers pies. They can't be stored at room temperature, so please keep that in mind!

Best way to eat Hodu Kkakki Brothers walnut pie, and how it tastes
Hodu Kkakki Brothers pies aren't meant to be eaten warm, they're meant to be eaten cold. I recommend eating them chilled from the fridge, or frozen and then thawed naturally at room temperature for about 5–10 minutes!
I shared them with other people, and everyone raved that they were nutty, not too sweet and delicious. I carried these pies all the way from Seoul, so I was so proud that everyone said they were good, haha. They're loaded with nuts, so they're nutty and not overly sweet, so I think parents would love them too!
As someone who has devoted her whole life to desserts, I confidently recommend this Gangnam dessert spot, so I hope you all visit it a lot (the staff were so kind too!)
