Peach cream cake and egg cookie, Gangnam Station café: Something About

Today I'm introducing my favorite café in Gangnam! Out of all the Gangnam Station cafés, this one has the most desserts — and since it's a huge 3-story building, it's a comfortable place to rest even in busy Gangnam. It's [Something About Coffee]!

Where is Something About Coffee, and what are the hours?

Something About Coffee is really close to walk to from both Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam Station. I parked at Gangnam Station and walked over. This alley has a lot of cafés so it's usually crowded, but visiting on a weekday meant fewer people, which I loved!

Something About Coffee is seriously huge! From the terrace to 1F, 2F, and 3F, there are so many seats, and every single floor has gorgeous interior, ugh. The fancy chandeliers and European-style decor really make the café atmosphere feel great.

I hesitated but went up to the 3rd floor, and there were so many seats there too that I had to think again... and ended up sitting toward the back haha. There are plenty of window seats on the 3rd floor too, so it'd be nice to pick your dessert first and then head up to eat it! Even on the 3rd floor, the AC was blasting so it stayed nice and cool.

This Gangnam Station café also had fruit sando (fruit sandwiches), which are apparently trending at cafés these days! They had peach and melon, and the chunky fruit inside looked really delicious.

There were so many kinds of cakes piled high with fresh fruit that I had a hard time deciding what to get... I agonized between peach, fig, and blueberry, and since it's peach season, I picked the peach cake!

Since this place is known for its baked goods, the bakery section can't be skipped either! From scones to financiers, cookies, and madeleines — it's basically a full collection of every dessert. If you're not sure what to get, bread-shopping at Something About Coffee is a must.

After much deliberation, I picked the egg cookie. It looks like an egg tart shape but is a bit firmer, more like a cookie than a tart. The butter and egg aroma drifted out so strongly there was no way I could skip it!

What does the matcha choco latte taste like?

For drinks, we went with a matcha choco latte and an americano! All four items worked really well together. Something About Coffee especially has a variety of matcha menu items, and the matcha choco latte was so good I'd recommend it! The rich matcha cream and the sweet choco latte underneath blended together better than expected. I'll have to try more of their matcha drinks next time.

Peach cream cake: more peach than sponge

I wanted to order two peach cakes, honestly. The amount of peach looked generous even from the outside, but it was packed all the way through inside too... It felt like there was more peach in there than actual cake — like a whole peach might've gone into it. When it comes to fruit cakes with this much fruit packed in, I think Something About Coffee is number one!

Gorgeous egg cookies ✨✨

This was my first time trying egg cookies here, and even my boyfriend, who doesn't like sweets, finished a whole one on his own — that's how good it was! It's not too sweet, more plain and clean-tasting, with a crisp edge and a moist inside. Such a delicious cookie haha.

A Gangnam café for first dates and catch-ups

From the egg cookies to the peach cake to the rich matcha, every single item was so good it made me curious about the rest of the menu too haha. Since the café is so spacious, a lot of people apparently come here for blind dates near Gangnam Station. The atmosphere is great, so I'd definitely recommend it!
