How do you get to Aruto Small Theater from Hyehwa Station?
Aruto Small Theater (아루또소극장) is a 1-minute walk from Hyehwa Station Exit 1, and it's where the play NEW Oh! My Ghost is staged. The weather was perfect for getting out, so my wife and I spent a weekend in Hyehwa and went to see this hot Daehak-ro play.

The map shows a huge detour, but when you come out of Hyehwa Station Exit 1, there's a sign pointing to the theater. Follow it and there's a shortcut straight through a building.

Go through the shortcut and you come right out at the Oh! My Ghost box office. We'd arrived so early that it hadn't opened yet, haha.

So we took one proof photo and went to a nearby café with my wife for a break... lol.

Over coffee at the café, we read the plot of the play and dug through reviews online.

Do you need to arrive early for good seats at Oh! My Ghost?
You pick your seat when you collect your ticket at the box office, and if you go late, only back-row seats are left. After resting to our heart's content, we strolled over to the box office and, well, now we were too late?? lol. The weather was so nice that it seemed like loads of people had come to see a play in Hyehwa.

We had no choice, so we picked the best of the remaining back seats and got our tickets.
TIP: Midway through the play there's an event where you go up on stage and can win pricey cosmetics, so if you're the lively type, I recommend sitting in the front rows and taking part!!!

Aruto Small Theater is on the 4th floor: is there an elevator?
Aruto Small Theater is on the 4th floor of the building and there is no elevator!!!! To see Oh! My Ghost you have to climb the stairs. I got a proper workout up to the 4th floor for the first time in a while, haha.

Climb the stairway to heaven and Aruto Small Theater finally appears!!

We checked the theater rules at the entrance and finally went into the theater.

I didn't know this, but apparently the play Oh! My Ghost is based on a drama that Park Bo-young starred in?? lol. I barely watch dramas, so I didn't even know it existed, haha.

What's in the Aruto Small Theater waiting room?
In the waiting room, Oh! My Ghost MD packages (merchandise sets) are on sale, and you can fill out an entry slip for a prize draw held after the show. There's also a water purifier and a restroom.

We didn't buy an MD package, but of course we filled out the entry slip. The draw is after the play, and you never know, right?? Can't resist a freebie, lol.
We came so late that nobody was in the waiting room, lol. Still, we got there 10 minutes before the show. Typical Koreans, the "hurry hurry" people......

The lead role changes by performance, and in the show we saw, a total of four actors played the leads.

The waiting room has a water purifier, so we could have a cold drink of water before going in. (The waiting room also has a restroom.)
Oh! My Ghost from the back row: how was the 90-minute show?
Our seats were D11 and D10, the second-to-last row, but Aruto is a small theater, so even in the back the stage wasn't far at all. With everything ready, we finally went in!! At first I was like T_T about the second-to-last row, but it turned out fine from the back, haha. It's a hot Daehak-ro play these days, so the house was almost full.
We sat down, waited a moment, and the play started soon after. There's a little horror mixed in, but comedy is the main thing, so time flew, haha. It's a 90-minute play but it felt like less than an hour, lol.

The comedy parts were fun, but the horror bits that made me jump now and then were especially fun, hahaha.
The actors stayed bubbly right to the end. Being an actor really isn't for just anyone. Performing for 90 minutes at that energy.... lol.

We went in last, so we came out last too, lol. On the way out I noticed that the seat spacing at Aruto Small Theater is wider than I expected?? No wonder it felt comfortable, lol.

Photo zone and partner discount after the show
They say that with an Oh! My Ghost ticket you can get ₩1,000 off at the Today Also a Drink (오늘도 한잔) cocktail PUB, but we didn't visit.

We took a commemorative photo together at the photo zone. You could also doodle on the mirror, and we left a letter as a keepsake, haha.

While we were playing around taking photos at the mirror, behind us people were taking photos with an actor, lol. If I'd known, I'd have skipped our own shots and taken one with the actor.... lol. Check first whether there's an actor photo time right after the show.

When we came out after the play, the sky was sooo pretty. I thought I was abroad, lol. The weather's so nice these days, so I recommend catching the popular Daehak-ro play NEW Oh! My Ghost on a date with your partner or with friends!
