Daehak-ro theater, general seats D10-D11 view: Suspicious PT Shop

In short

Suspicious PT Shop is an adults-only, audience-participation play staged at Nine Theater in the Hyehwa area of Daehak-ro, Jongno, Seoul. Booked as a first-ever play, general seats D10 and D11 sat far enough back to take in the whole stage at once, and the Nine Theater lobby was running a gold LED mask prize draw with coffee and water on hand. Suspicious PT Shop turned out far more explicit than expected, but the comic story kept it from feeling embarrassing — an unusual date that worked.

Here's a record of my date watching the audience-participation, adults-only Daehak-ro play Suspicious PT Shop.

I've been to Hyehwa many times for restaurants and cafés, but this was my first time going for a play, as a bit of an unusual date idea. The show I saw was Nine Theater's 19+ play Suspicious PT Shop — I was curious since it's a different vibe from the usual play, so here's how it went.

  • Play: Suspicious PT Shop

Where is Nine Theater, and what's in the lobby? Ticket pickup down the stairs

I watched Suspicious PT Shop at Nine Theater in Hyehwa, Daehak-ro. Nine Theater's entrance is down a flight of stairs leading to the theater.

Hyehwa has so many different theaters that regular theatergoers probably know their way around, but since this was my first time seeing a play, even walking into the venue felt new to me.

Down the stairs there's a banner with ticket pickup directions, and following it made the theater easy to find. On the way in, photos of the cast were posted along the corridor — and even the photos themselves were pretty racy.

There was free coffee and water available, and after picking up tickets there was an entry event you could join too. Entering got you a chance to win a gold LED mask — a fun, low-effort thing to join.

There was also a seating area to rest in after picking up your ticket before the show. I arrived about 20 minutes early and it was already packed, so there was nowhere to sit. If you arrive with a bit more buffer, you should be able to rest comfortably before heading in. There's even a cheeky gym-themed photo zone :)

What is the play Suspicious PT Shop about?

Suspicious PT Shop features adult actors and definitely has a different flavor from a typical Daehak-ro play. As the title suggests, the story unfolds in a personal training (PT) gym, with the actors' performances driving a series of situations.

Set in a PT shop, the story follows trainers and members with very different personalities running into unexpected situations — two trainers and two beginner members meet while learning to work out, and I was curious how they'd turn that into comedic episodes.

The actors each take on a distinct character — the gym owner, trainers, members — and lead the show forward. Since each character has such a clear personality, watching the chemistry between the actors was fun in itself.

How is the view from general seats D10 and D11?

Suspicious PT Shop tickets are priced by seat, and I booked general seats. Looking at the seating chart, the stage and audience are fairly close overall, and the distance to the stage doesn't vary that much between seats, so it seemed like a good setup for enjoying the show vividly. I booked two seats, D10 and D11, and once seated, the whole stage came into view — very satisfying.

Here's the upcoming cast schedule. Which actors appear changes by date, so if you have a favorite, it's worth checking the casting before booking. That said, the schedule can change depending on the actors' availability, so I'd recommend double-checking the latest schedule right before your visit.

View of the stage from seats D10 and D11

I booked seats D10 and D11, and the distance from the stage was just right — the whole stage came into view while still feeling immersive. I could follow the actors' movements easily and see the full stage comfortably, so I was very happy with this seat.

I kept a ticket before the show as a memento. The seat wasn't too far or too close, so I could clearly see the actors' expressions and acting. Unlike watching a screen at the movies, a play puts the actors right in front of you, and the live presence really is different.

How explicit is Suspicious PT Shop, and are the participation special seats okay?

Suspicious PT Shop is billed as one of the most explicit plays in Korea, so I was curious just how far that would go. Honestly, I went in thinking 'how high can it really be' and just wanted a light, unusual date. Once the show started, though, it was way more explicit than I expected, which was a bit startling — but the overall story was told comically, so it wasn't as awkward as I thought it might be. And because the cast are adult performers, their acting and expressiveness were strong, which helped me get naturally immersed in the show.

Audience and stage during an audience-participation segment

There were moments where gifts were handed out to the audience and parts where the audience directly participated, so it felt less like just watching a stage and more like building the show together with the audience. Rows 1 and 2 in particular are special seats, and they seemed like a great way to fully enjoy the audience-participation aspects during the show. If you're introverted like me, audience participation might feel like a lot, so keep that in mind when booking the special seats. Overall, the content is definitely explicit, but it comes together as an adult play made enjoyable through a comic story and strong acting.

Who should book Suspicious PT Shop?

  • Anyone looking for a different kind of Daehak-ro play
  • Anyone wanting an unusual date experience
  • Anyone curious to try an adults-only play

Would I see Suspicious PT Shop again?

"So would you watch this again?" → YES / MAYBE / NO

Suspicious PT Shop surprised me with how much more explicit it was than expected, but the comic storyline and the actors' performances made it a genuinely fun watch. If you want something a little different from a typical date, this could be worth checking out.
