"I have to come back here." That's what I thought last time as I walked out of Stay Bread Myeongil branch (스테이브래드 명일점), and sure enough, I came back haha 🤣

There are so many good bakeries, right? But strangely, not many are ones you actually want to go back to. Stay Bread Myeongil branch is that kind of place for me. Since I'm raising kids, I don't only judge a bread by taste, I look at the ingredients too. We eat bread as an after-school snack, on weekend mornings, and when we need a quick meal, so naturally I've become pickier.
This time too I wanted bread that's easy on the stomach and not heavy, so I went back to Stay Bread Myeongil branch, a well-known bakery in Gangdong.
Does Stay Bread Myeongil branch have parking?
Yes, the shop has parking. Every time I visit I feel how accessible it is, so it's easy to stop by.

Parking matters a lot when you're moving around with kids, right? Being able to visit without worrying about parking is one of my reasons for coming back.
Popular breads are posted at the entrance
There's a sign for the popular breads at the shop entrance. You notice it even before you go in.

First-timers can easily see which breads are famous. For indecisive people like me, that's really welcome info 🤣
Go in the morning for freshly baked bread
When I visited in the morning, bread was coming out in full swing. The moment you open the door, the smell of freshly baked bread hits you. Bread lovers know what I mean, that smell alone makes you feel good.

Watching the freshly baked breads being moved to the display shelves made me even more excited.
What breads does Stay Bread Myeongil branch have?
Inside the shop, it's full of all kinds of bread, from meal breads and snack breads to sandwiches and cookies.

Meal breads, snack breads, sandwiches and cookies.

With so many choices, just browsing was fun. Bread lovers will probably linger here a long while 🤣 I wrote about the shop in detail in an earlier post!
The signature red yeast rice loaf, fresh from the oven
The red yeast rice loaf is one of Stay Bread's signature items, and it happened to be coming out right when I visited.

I got lucky and caught a freshly baked loaf. Since it had only just come out, the owner opened the bag slightly and packed it while still warm. This is pure happiness...
The moment my car turned into a bakery
On the way home with the loaf, the whole car filled with the smell of bread.

Every time I stopped at a red light I felt good 🤣 I thought, "Ah, great purchase today."
Sandwiches, drinks and an upstairs area too
The refrigerated section at Stay Bread Myeongil branch had a nice variety of sandwiches too.

They'd work for a simple breakfast or lunch, and on a busy day I could see myself just grabbing one.
There's also a drink menu, so it's nice for relaxing in the shop.

The upstairs area is kept tidy too, so it looks like a decent place to spend time with a coffee.
Today's bread shopping, done
The breads I picked after a long debate. I'm not the only one who gets greedy at a bakery, right? 🤣 I want to try this, and that looks good too.

In the end I went home with both hands full.
How was the red yeast rice loaf as an after-school snack?
I served the red yeast rice loaf as the kids' after-school snack, and both my eldest and my youngest ate it well. The first thing I did when we got home was slice the loaf.

I prepared it as the kids' after-school snack. No matter how healthy a bread is, it's pointless if the kids won't eat it, right?
The result: a huge success. The eldest ate well, the youngest ate well. Just watching them makes this mom happy 🤣

The red yeast rice loaf is chewy yet nutty, and the kids reacted really well to it.
Adults will enjoy it too
The red yeast rice loaf is chewy and soft at the same time, and a nutty flavor rises the more you chew. I tried it too, and the texture is definitely good. Above all, I liked that it doesn't have a strong, sugary sweetness, so it feels easy to eat without feeling heavy.
The sweet pumpkin campagne is recommended too
The sweet pumpkin campagne (country-style loaf) I picked this time at Stay Bread Myeongil branch was really satisfying too.

The outside is plain and simple, and the inside is generously filled with sweet pumpkin. It feels like they didn't skimp on ingredients. It's fun to chew and has a great texture, and I personally enjoyed it a lot.
Easy on the stomach even after eating
One reason I like Stay Bread is that it feels light even after eating. I love bread, but sometimes it leaves my stomach feeling heavy.

Stay Bread's bread feels relatively comfortable to eat, which I like. That's probably why I reach for it more often as a snack for the kids.

Final thoughts
Satisfied again this time. 👍👍 The red yeast rice loaf is good warm and good cooled. The sweet pumpkin campagne was packed with ingredients and satisfying too. Above all, the biggest plus is that the kids eat it well. So our family will probably keep visiting from time to time.
I think a place you want to come back to when it crosses your mind is a real good spot, more than somewhere you go once and that's it. If you're looking for a bakery in Gangdong, Stay Bread Myeongil branch is worth a visit 😊
