What kind of bakery is Stay Bread?

Stay Bread is a bakery café that makes rice bread from 100% new-crop rice, and it has a shop in Myeongil-dong. At some point wheat started to sit badly with my stomach, and I found this place while looking for healthier bread. There isn't one near my home, so I always end up making the trip to Myeongil-dong^^

You might assume rice bread is dry or not very tasty, but try it at Stay Bread and that prejudice is totally gone! hahahahaha

What is inside Stay Bread's two floors?

The 1st floor is where the bread is made and sold, and the 2nd floor is a café space where you can sit and eat comfortably.

It's a pleasant, relaxed space, so I often go when I want to read a book with coffee and bread :) I even ran into some regulars I'd seen just recently, haha. They have baby chairs too~

Taste test: chestnut loaf, garlic baguette and matcha levain cookie

Picking one by one, I ended up choosing quite a lot, haha. But even when I pick this much, I freeze it and reheat it in the air fryer, and it comes out like freshly made bread, haha, delicious again^^

Stay Bread's chestnut loaf sells out if you come a bit late! The crumb is moist and chewy(?), so it's soft and tasty. It has chestnuts in it, so it's sweet and nutty.

The garlic baguette has a lovely garlic aroma~ Unlike a regular wheat baguette, the outside is crisp while the inside is a bit chewier. It's slathered with garlic sauce, so it's savory and fragrant~

And this is the matcha levain cookie! It has the thick, hefty texture typical of levain cookies, plus the bitter aroma of matcha. Nothing beats this as an afternoon snack~ hahahaha
