The writer ordered a matcha Einspänner switched to oat milk, a hojicha + vanilla Wunder Gato, and kaimak with honey and white ciabatta, and called the ice cream the best they had ever had. Wunder Coffee Bar is worth a stop in Songdo when you want both proper coffee and ice cream.

I was looking for a café at the Songdo Hyundai Outlet and found Wunder Coffee Bar, where both the coffee and the ice cream made me happy! Let me introduce it right away.

Location and hours of Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo

Wunder Coffee Bar Hyundai Premium Outlet Songdo Branch is on B1 at 123 Songdogukje-daero, Yeonsu-gu, Incheon, South Korea, and it is open daily from 10:30 to 21:00.

Wunder Coffee Bar on B1 of the Songdo Hyundai Outlet

Wunder Coffee Bar is inside the Songdo Hyundai Outlet! So it's super easy to find. Head to the restaurant area and it's right there, so I spotted it on the first try, haha.

Wunder Coffee Bar actually started in Yeokgok in 2019, and it combines coffee with a bar concept, aiming for coffee that's comfortable to drink every day! It's famous for really good ice cream and coffee, so I'd been dying to try it, and I finally did, haha.

Can you swap the matcha Einspänner to oat milk at Wunder Coffee Bar?

At the Songdo branch I could get the matcha Einspänner (a drink topped with cream) with oat milk. However, Wunder Coffee has coffee in it so it can't be changed, while other Einspänner types are made individually with the swap, I was told.

The menu is quite big. I tend to agonize when there are lots of options, haha. And at Wunder Coffee Bar so many things looked good! So after lots and lots of deliberating, I ordered a matcha Einspänner, a Gato (hojicha + vanilla), and kaimak + honey + white ciabatta!

And it turns out Wunder Coffee Bar uses oat milk? So I changed my matcha Einspänner to oat milk~ It's normally pre-mixed, so it could only be sold with regular milk, but that day they said they'd make mine separately, and I was so grateful to get it, haha. Wunder Coffee has coffee built right in so it can't be changed, and other Einspänner types are made individually with the swap, so I picked the matcha Einspänner, haha.

Where do you sit at the Songdo Hyundai Outlet Wunder Coffee Bar?

Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo is surrounded by the restaurant area, so you can sit pretty much anywhere nearby, and they give you a pager so you can grab a seat and wait comfortably. No awkward standing while you eat, haha.

While browsing, haha, the ice cream looked so good! And I thought, good thing I ordered the affogato, hehe. If you walk around there are seats, so it's easy to use! I went looking for a cooler spot, haha.

Gato and matcha Einspänner with packaged kaimak and bread

Ta-da, everything came out! From the left is the Gato and the matcha Einspänner, and the kaimak and bread are packaged in the back! The moment I saw it I was so impressed that it looks exactly like the photos, haha.

Matcha Einspänner marked as changed to oat milk

As I mentioned above, my matcha Einspänner was changed to oat milk, and they wrote that on it separately, haha. Nice touch~

How does the hojicha + vanilla Gato taste?

The Gato (hojicha + vanilla) was the most impressive item of this visit, and the ice cream was the best I've ever had. I already love affogato, but the look of the Gato's ice cream is amazing, haha.

Gato topped with hojicha and vanilla ice cream

It's totally smooth yet thick and dense, and it looked so good that I quickly dug in.

Scooping the Gato ice cream

Ahh, I can tell the coffee at Wunder Coffee Bar is good too, but the ice cream is amazing!!

Close-up of the hojicha vanilla Gato

I don't even know what hojicha is, but it was sweet~ with a soft vanilla aroma and rich coffee aroma together, and it was so, so good. I felt like I'd tasted the best ice cream ever and was so excited to have found a great spot, haha. Songdo has lots of great cafés, but sadly many of them are good at crafted drinks rather than the coffee itself. Wunder Coffee Bar is the real deal!

Is the oat milk matcha Einspänner bitter?

The matcha Einspänner with oat milk wasn't just bitter matcha. It was nutty and smooth, and I finished it in no time. The oat milk does make it nuttier and smoother, and I love that it isn't just bitter.

Drinking the matcha Einspänner

The softly spreading matcha aroma goes really well with the nuttiness of the oat milk, and honestly I chugged it down, haha. It's so good you keep sipping, hahaha, and it was gone quickly... I really recommend the matcha Einspänner!!

How do you eat the kaimak + honey + white ciabatta?

The kaimak (Turkish-style clotted cream) instructions at Wunder Coffee Bar say to scoop plenty of kaimak and honey onto the white ciabatta. Rather than pressing and spreading the kaimak, putting it on as is lets you feel its texture, and since this was the item I was most looking forward to, I had to follow along, haha.

The bread is really big too, haha. A thick~ white ciabatta, haha.

The kaimak is thick yet soft! I'm not sure I've ever had proper kaimak, but I do remember trying it, and I thought it just tasted mildly nutty. But maybe because you eat it together with honey in one bite, it was really sweet~ and nutty and smelled so good too.

Kaimak scooped up with honey

I ate it on the bread and the nuttiness was really something, haha. And in your mouth it has a subtle chew, which I found so fascinating.

White ciabatta topped with kaimak and honey

I knew the Songdo Hyundai Outlet had quite a few good eateries, but a great coffee spot, a great ice cream spot and a great kaimak spot all in one? I never expected that, haha.

Kaimak ciabatta with bite marks

Can you see the bite marks? Haha. It's really thick and dense. It was so, so good that it felt like eating a delicious sauce for the first time in ages. A whole different level from jam, haha.

What do I recommend at Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo?

At Wunder Coffee Bar Songdo, I most recommend the coffee, the Einspänner and the items with ice cream. The kaimak is really good too, but personally it's the coffee and Einspänner!! Highly recommended. And with ice cream on top, haha. The ice cream is so smooth, you have to try it, haha.

If you're looking for a great spot or café at the Songdo Hyundai Outlet, I totally recommend Wunder Coffee Bar. It's great for a date and also a lovely stop while browsing with your parents. Please do visit once!
