Quiet, old-fashioned entrance of Huirit

Huirit isn't a regular storefront — it's a converted old house, so the atmosphere felt quiet and comfortable! There's a small outdoor terrace by the entrance too, and I thought it'd be lovely to have brunch or a glass of wine out there when the weather's cool, haha.

Beef Wellington, 39,000 won: the corn purée makes it

The dish I was most excited about that day, Huirit's signature Beef Wellington!! It's not a common menu item elsewhere, so I was curious, and I'm so glad we reserved ahead T.T The outer pastry was crisp, and the tenderloin inside was so moist a knife glided right through it!!

The buttery flavor and mushroom paste pair subtly well, but honestly, the corn purée served alongside is the real kick! Piling the sweet, savory corn purée onto the meat was such a great combination, haha. Definitely try it with the purée on top!

As you can see, the knife went in with almost no effort at all! Even if you've never tried Beef Wellington before, this is a version you'll really enjoy, haha.

Mentaiko shrimp oil pasta, 18,000 won

Huirit's mentaiko shrimp oil pasta topped generously with mentaiko

And then the mentaiko shrimp oil pasta I picked, since I love pasta! This one was also so tasty, haha. Even though it's oil-based, it was clean without feeling greasy, and the mentaiko (marinated pollock roe) was generously loaded in, giving it great umami.

The shrimp were huge and had great texture too, and the seasoning was spot on. This place clearly has solid oil pasta fundamentals — a flavor everyone would love, no polarizing notes here!

Is Huirit worth a weekday evening visit?

I went to Huirit in Seongsu drawn in by the cozy atmosphere, and left won over by the taste of the main dishes! The mentaiko shrimp oil pasta was above average too, but the Beef Wellington with corn purée was so good I keep thinking about it, haha.

With its well-divided private room seating, this is a space I'd genuinely recommend for small gatherings like a blind date in Seongsu, a Seoul Forest date, or a wedding-invite meetup. If you're looking for an atmospheric Western restaurant near Seongsu or Seoul Forest, definitely give Huirit a try!
